Green County Sheriff

On September 6:

● At approximately 5:10 p.m., Green County Dispatch received a traffic complaint of a black Volkswagen sedan driving erratically and entering the oncoming lane of traffic, southbound in the N9200 blk of STH 69, Town of New Glarus. Deputies located the vehicle traveling 74 MPH in a 55 MPH zone in the N4100 blk of STH 69. After a traffic stop and subsequent investigation, the operator, Margarito Moranchel-Garcia, 25 of Madison, was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol - 1st Offense. Margarito was also cited for Operating with Prohibited Alcohol Concentration - > .15%, Speed, and Operating Without a License. Margarito was released to a responsible party from the Green County Jail with a future court date.

On September 7:

● At approximately 11:42 a.m., Deputies responded to the N2100 block of State Highway 69, Town of Clarno, for a report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation determined the operator, Gary A. Klocke, 84 of Orangeville, was northbound on State Highway 69 when he fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle exited the roadway and crashed, causing disabling damage with no airbag deployment. Gary reported wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injury. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

On September 8:

● 5:22 AM Susan A. Aurand, 59, South Wayne reported striking a deer on STH 11 in the Village of Gratiot. No injuries were reported and Aurand’s 2014 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 7:27 AM Jason P Roelli, 48, Monroe reported striking a deer on STH 81, Lamont Township. No injuries were reported and Roelli’s 2018 BMW received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On September 9:

● 11:26 p.m. Sheila M Miller, 42, Argyle reported striking a deer on Spore RD, Argyle Township. No injuries were reported and Miller’s 2019 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On September 10:

● 9:10 a.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to CTH E, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident. Marlon J Alvares-Bucardo, 27, Shullsburg was traveling southbound on CTH E in a 2002 Infiniti and attempted to negotiate a curve. Alvares-Bucardo entered the ditch, lost control and struck a fence and pole. Alvares-Bucardo was cited for Operating while Suspended, Operating without Insurance, Failure to Notify Police of an Accident, and Failure to Maintain Control. Deputies assisted on scene and the vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage.

● 11:35 a.m. South Wayne Fire responded to State Line RD, Wayne Township for a silage fire.

● 1:06 p.m. A deputy responded to County Shop RD, Darlington Township for a theft. Darlington Police assisted.


Monticello Police

On September 5:

● At approximately 11:14 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Garfield Street for a fraud report. A citizen had received a cashier’s check by mail to purchase a vehicle. The check was taken to the bank and was verified that the cashier’s check was fraudulent. Officers attempted contact with the person who sent the check. The investigation is ongoing.


Monroe Police

On September 10:

● 8:26 p.m., officers arrested Charles E. Jaeger, 25, Monroe, at a residence in the 1300 l6th 1/2 Street, on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole for a parole violation. Jaeger was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
