Green County Sheriff

On April 1:

● At approximately 9:27 a.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed John Carothers-Muszynski, 31, under arrest for a Probation Hold. John was transported to the Green County Jail.

● At approximately 7:18 p.m., Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover crash with no injury in the W1900 blk of STH 11, Town of Spring Grove. Investigation revealed the operator, Scott M. Fields, 42, was westbound on STH 11 when his vehicle began hydroplaning. The truck left the roadway, entered the south ditch, climbed an embankment and then rolled due to the incline of the embankment. The truck came to a rest on its roof. Scott and his three passengers were not injured and all reported wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle had full airbag deployment and was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.

● At approximately 11:20 p.m., Deputies stopped and cited Cheyenne Gleason, 28 of Illinois, for speed (79/55) in the W5100 block of STH 11, Town of Monroe. Further investigation also resulted in Cheyenne being cited for Possession of THC – Less Than 25 Grams. Cheyenne was released with a future court date.

On April 5:

● At approximately 3:37 p.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation Office and placed Jose L. Rosas, 30 of Monticello, under arrest for a Probation Hold. Jose was housed at the Green County Jail. 

On April 10:

● At 4:52 p.m., Deputies to W900 blk Taylor Trl., Town of Decatur, for a disorderly conduct complaint. Investigation resulted in, Britney R. Carpenter, 35, of Brodhead, being issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

On April 11:

● At approximately 5:03 p.m., Deputies responded to the N4500 block of STH 59, Town of Sylvester, for a report of a two-vehicle crash with no injury. Investigation determined a southbound semi-tractor being operated by Jan M. Phyffer, 35 of Evansville, was attempting to take a right turn onto County Highway FF from State Highway 59. Another southbound vehicle on State Highway 59 being operated by Raiden J. Mayberry, 20 of Juda, did not observe the semi-tractor slowing down and rear ended it. Neither driver was injured and both reported wearing their seatbelts. Raiden’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. The semi-trailer sustained very minimal damage and was driven from the scene. Raiden was issued a citation for Inattentive Driving and was released with a future court date.

● At approximately 8:17 p.m., Deputies placed Levi C. Gill, 32 of Argyle, under arrest on an arrest warrant after Levi turned himself in to the Green County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest warrant was issued for Disorderly Conduct falling under the Wisconsin Domestic Abuse Laws and for Stalking. Levi was held in the Green County Jail pending his initial court appearance.

On April 14:

● At 10:43 a.m. Deputies responded to W8200 block of CTH B in the Town of Cadiz for an incident. The investigation resulted in Kyle F. Smith, 35, of Browntown, being arrested for Domestic Battery, Disorderly Conduct, Causing Mental Harm to a child, and Child Neglect. Smith was transported to the Green County jail pending a court appearance.

● At 1:59 p.m., Deputies responded to 2841 6th Street, City of Monroe, to take custody of David W. Winger, 46, of Brodhead, on a Probation Hold. Winger was transported to the Green County Jail.

● At 10:48 p.m., Deputies responded to the W1900 block of Brooklyn-Albany Rd., Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a one vehicle roll-over crash with no injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the driver, Jake Steele, 19 of Mount Horeb. Steele reported traveling west bound when a deer entered the roadway. Steele had swerved to avoid colliding with the deer when the vehicle had over turned in the roadway as a result. Steele and his passenger reported wearing their safety belts and were uninjured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Albany PD assisted at the scene.

On April 20:

● At approximately 2:19 p.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed Shannon M. Owen, 44 of New Glarus, under arrest for a Probation Hold. Shannon was housed to the Green County Jail.

On April 22:

● At 11:44 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation in the N8700 block of State Highway 69, in the Town of New Glarus. Investigation resulted in the driver, Shanitha A. Tillmon, 27 of Freeport being arrested for Operating Under the Influence (1st) with passengers under the age of 16. Tillmon was further cited for speeding. Tillmon was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending the posting of bond. The New Glarus Police Department assisted at the scene.

On April 24:

● At 11:33 a.m., Deputies responded to the W9200 block of State Highway 39, in the Town of York for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Kyle G. Ray, 30 of Dodgeville, was traveling eastbound when his vehicle sustained a mechanical failure, causing Ray to lose control. The vehicle then struck a traffic sign and entered the ditch. Ray reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. Investigation resulted in Ray being cited for Operating After Revocation, and for Failure/Tampering Install of an Ignition Interlock Device. Ray was released pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On April 26:

● 2:32 a.m. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on CTH X, Belmont Township. As a result, Richard P. Hess, 56, Kenosha, was cited for Operating while Intoxicated – 1st Offense and Failure to Signal Turn. Hess was released to a responsible party.

● 8:29 p.m. Krystal M. Johnston, 33, Benton, reported striking a deer on CTH W, Benton Township. No injuries were reported and Johnston’s 2015 Dodge received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On April 27:

● 11:20 a.m. A deputy responded to a welfare check on CTH X, Belmont Township. Upon arrival, it was determined that Sondra L. Willis, 41, Hazel Green, was operating a 2008 Volvo when she struck a power pole. As a result, Willis was arrested for Battery to Law Enforcement, Resisting/Obstructing, Criminal Damage to Government Property, Operating while Intoxicated – 3rd Offense, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Willis was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and remains in custody. Willis was also cited for Operating after Suspension and Failure to Maintain Control. The accident remains under investigation. Belmont EMS and Belmont Police Department assisted on scene.

On April 28:

● 5:42 p.m. Matthew J. King, 20, Blanchardville was cited for Speeding (88 in a 55) on STH 81, Seymour Township.

On April 29:

● 12:19 a.m. Hector M. Velasco, 23, Platteville was cited for Operating without a Valid License and OWI (1st) on CTH G, Belmont Township. 

On April 30:

● 2:24 a.m. A deputy came upon an unoccupied one vehicle rollover on STH 126, Elk Grove Township. Upon further investigation, Jose G. Salgado-Rodriguez, 23, Darlington was uninjured. Salgado-Rodriguez’s 2006 Volvo received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Salgado-Rodriguez was cited for Operating while Intoxicated (1st), Operating without a License (1st), Failure to Maintain Control, Failure to Notify Police of an Accident, and Operating a Vehicle without Insurance.

● 8:10 p.m. Monte J. Liphart, 58, South Wayne reported striking a deer on Andrews RD, Wayne Township. Liphart’s 2012 GMC received minor damage and was driven from the scene.


Monroe Police

On April 27:

● 11:51 a.m., officers were called to a single vehicle versus a light pole accident, with no reported injuries, on STH 69 at 21st Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Deanna M. Briggs (53), Rock City, IL, was traveling southbound on STH 69 when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a light pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed. Briggs was cited for inattentive driving and released pending a court appearance.

● 12:48 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident, with no reported injuries, at the intersection of 11th Street and l3th Avenue. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Philip E. Hakanson, 72, Monroe, was eastbound on 11th Street, stopped at the stop sign at 13th Avenue, entered the intersection, and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by Mauricio Pina, 48, Monroe. Both vehicles sustained moderate damages. Hakanson was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, and was released pending a court appearance. Pina was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license, and was released pending a court appearance.

On April 28:

● 12:29 p.m., officers were called to a shoplifting complaint at a business in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. An investigation led to officers citing Felisha N. Fuchs, 28, Monroe, with retail theft. Fuchs was released pending a court appearance.

● 8:30 p.m., officers arrested Eugene C. Mosconi, 46, Monroe, following a complaint about a person violating bail conditions at a business in the 1300 block of 14th Street. Mosconi was charged with two counts of felony bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions from prior cases prohibiting alcohol consumption and being in a place which sells alcohol. Mosconi was also arrested on a warrant from the Green County Sheriffs Office for failure to appear in court on an operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated case. Mosconi was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.


Brodhead Police

On April 12:

● 3:45 p.m., Police responded to the 1300 block of W 2nd Ave. for the report of a Traffic Complaint; a vehicle failed to yield to a school bus. This case is pending identification of the driver.

On April 14:

● 9:49 p.m., a 69 year old Brodhead woman was arrested in the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave. for Bail Jumping.


Monticello Police

On April 17:

● 5:56 p.m., Police responded to the 600 block of E 9th Ave. for the report of Damage to Property; a windshield and tire were damaged. This matter remains under investigation.

 On April 21:

● 9:23 a.m., Police responded to the 900 block of W Exchange St. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a vehicle backed into another vehicle. No citations were issued.
