Green County Sheriff

On May 14:

● At 11:51 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 39 and York Valley Rd., Town of York, for a two vehicle crash with no injuries. After a subsequent investigation, Deputies learned a vehicle occupied by Steven F. Meassick and Kelly A. McCarthy both of Mount Horeb were initially westbound on STH 39 and attempted to turn right (northbound) onto York Valley Rd. When Steven attempted to turn right, a second vehicle operated by Samantha G. Ihm, did not slow down quick enough, swerved to the right (north shoulder) in an attempt to miss the Kelly’s vehicle, but struck the passenger side of Kelly’s vehicle. Neither vehicle’s air bag deployed, no one was injured, and everyone was wearing a seatbelt. Samantha admitted her vehicle’s brakes were not very good and the heavy rain played factor. Kelly’s vehicle sustained functional damage to its entire passenger side, but was driven from the scene by Steven. Samantha’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end and driver side front. Samantha’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

On May 16:

● At 10:45 a.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe to assist Probation and Parole agents. Investigation resulted in Royce J. Brauer, 20 of Monroe being arrested for a Probation Violation. Brauer was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

● At 5:48 p.m., Deputies responded to the N5000 block of State Highway 104, in the Town of Albany for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Matthew P. Thies, 40 of Albany, was traveling north bound on State Highway 104 and attempted to make a left turn. While turning Thies was struck by another northbound vehicle operated by Haoming Fang, 20 of Madison. Thies and Fang reported no injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, and no airbags had deployed. Thies’ vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Fang’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation resulted in Fang being cited for Passing in a No Passing Zone. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

On May 17:

● At 12:59 a.m., Deputies responded to W9400 blk of Lewis Rd, Town of Jordan, for a report of a trespassing.  Investigation resulted in, Austin J. Penniston, 42, of Argyle, being arrested for criminal trespass to dwelling and a DOC warrant.  

● At 5:32 a.m. Deputies, Albany Fire, Albany EMS, and Green County EMS responded to a milk truck rollover in the W1100 block of Bump Rd., in the Town of Albany.  The investigation revealed the Lucas A. Strohacker, age 33 of  Juda, was traveling east when the vehicle entered the north ditch, rolled over, collided with a culvert marker, and collided with a tree.  Strohacker was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated.  Strohacker reported wearing his seatbelt and was transported for treatment of injury sustained in the crash.  The 2022 Mack  Semi and 2007 Walker tanker trailer sustained disabling damage to all areas; there was no airbag deployment. Strohacker was cited for failure to maintain control. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

On May 7:

● 1:21 p.m. Argyle Fire and EMS and a deputy responded to STH 78, Argyle Township for a one vehicle rollover. Morgan E Runaas, 20, Evansville was traveling south on STH 78 in her 2013 Chevrolet when she lost control while negotiating a curve and entered the ditch where she overturned. Runaas denied EMS and her vehicle was towed from the scene with severe damage. Runaas was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and No Proof of Insurance.

On May 9:

● 11:17 a.m. Janecia Z. Morris, 24, Benton was arrested on Main St, City of Darlington for an active warrant through Grant County. Morris was transported to Grant County Jail.

● 9:36 p.m. Stacy R. Streight, 36, Hanover Ill. reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. Streight reported no injuries. Streight’s 2021 Jeep received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On May 12:

● 3:07 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH B, Wayne Township for a vehicle in the ditch. Lorenzo A. Hernandez-Sanchez, 30, South Wayne was cited of Operating without a Valid License.

● 4:41 p.m. Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS responded to STH 11, Gratiot Township for a two vehicle accident. Logan S. Hermanson, 24, Shullsburg was stopped waiting for a vehicle to turn when he was rear ended by a 2008 Toyota driven by Savanna L. Burmeister. No injuries were reported. Hermanson’s 2015 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene. Burmeister’s 2008 Toyota received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Gratiot Fire and deputies assisted on scene. 

● 8:52 p.m. John P. Foley, 56, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH F, Fayette Township. Foley’s 2002 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On May 13:

● 12:59 a.m. Kevin F. Kent, 57, Shullsburg was cited for OWI (1st) on STH 81, Darlington Township. 

● 6:26 a.m. Tammy L. Torstenson, 52, Darlington reported striking a deer on STH 11, Benton Township. Torstenson’s 2015 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.


Monroe Police

On May 10:

● At approximately 5:02 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of 19th Avenue for excessive speed. Investigation into the stop resulted in the driver, Michael L. Kutyna, 46, Monroe,  being arrested on a Failure to Appear Arrest Warrant through Illinois and an Arrest Warrant out of Arizona. Michael also cited for Exceeding Posted Speed Limit and Operating While Suspended. Michael was taken to the Green County Jail where he was held pending court.

On May 11:

● At approximately 6:00 a.m. Officers received an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Officer responded to the 1600 block of 12th Street where Bradley J. Rear, 60, Monroe was arrested on an Arrest Warrant through  the Department of Corrections. Bradley was taken to the Green County Jail where he was held.

On May 14:

● At 3:07 a.m. Monroe Police Department Officers were dispatched to an unknown problem in the 900 block of l3th Avenue. Upon further investigation, Duvan J. Becerril, 24, of Monroe was arrested for False Imprisonment and Disorderly Conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Abuse Laws. Duvan was confined at the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On May 16:

● At 2:51 a.m., officers arrested Sabrina V. M. Goebel, 21, Freeport, IL, following a traffic offense stop at STH 69 and 2lst Street. Goebel was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-lst offense and possession oftetrahydrocannabinols (THC)-lst offense. Goebel was additionally charged with obstructing an officer after providing a false name. Goebel was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license and improper left turn. Goebel was booked and released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.

On May 17:

● At 12:25 a.m., officers arrested Davontay W. Oden, 24, Monroe, at a residence in the 300 block of 4th Street, on a charge of bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions for a prior case. Oden was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

● 2:43 a.m., officers arrested Mitchel J. Disch, 41, Footville, following a traffic offense stop in the 1700 block of STH 69. Disch was charged with misdemeanor bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions for a prior case. Disch was also cited for operating after revocation-criminal, operating with no insurance, failure to fasten seatbelt and violate child safety restraint requirements. Disch was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

On May 18:

● At approximately 3:38 a.m., Officers received a request from a Law Enforcement Agency to make contact with Joseph D. Wright, 40, Monroe, at a residence in the 800 block of 24th Street. Contact was made with Joseph who was subsequently arrested on an active Arrest Warrant out of Wood County. Joseph was taken to the Green County Jail, where he was held.
