Monticello Police

On Jan. 29:

● At approximately 7:36 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Urban Road for a reported abandoned vehicle.  Officers found the vehicle was broke down. The vehicle’s owner was contacted and arrangements were made to have the vehicle removed. 

On Jan. 30:

● At approximately 11:37 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a report of suspicious activity.  The officer investigated the activity.  The incident remains under investigation.

On Jan 31:

● At approximately 6:55 a.m., Officers cited a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Main Street for violation of the 24-hour parking ordinance.  The vehicle was also tagged for 24-Hour Impound.  Officers will re check the area after the 24-hour impound time expires.

On Feb. 1:

● At approximately 11:51 a.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Main Street for a vehicle that was parked on the wrong side of the street.  As officers were arriving the vehicle had moved.  No further action was needed. 

● At approximately 11:55 a.m., Officers received a welfare check in the 400 block of S. Monroe Street.  Contact was made at the residence. Everything was found to be okay.  


Monroe Police

On March 8:

● At approximately 12:07 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 20th Avenue. Investigation into the stop resulted Samantha R.M. Estep, 36, Monroe, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence 2nd Offense and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping for violation conditions of an open Criminal Case. Samantha was also cited for Operating While Suspend-ed and Possession of Open Intoxicants, Samantha was taken to the Green County Jail where she was later release

On March 10:

● At approximately 4:39 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of 6th Street for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. At the conclusion of the investigation, Shane Segner (44) of rural Monroe was arrested for 5th Offense Operating While Intoxicated. Segner was alsoheld on an apprehension request from Probation and Parole for a probation violation.Segner was confined at the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On March 11:

● 1:29 a.m., officers arrested Tyler A. Williams (26), Monticello, in the 1300 block of 17th Street, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriffs Office for failure to appear in court on an operating after revocation case. Williams was later released after posting cash bond pending a court appearance.

● 10:34 p.m., officers were called to a complaint that a person was violating bail conditions at a business in the 1300 block of 17th Street. An investigation led to the arrest of ZacharyA. Brown (29), Evansville, on a charge of felony bail jumping due to violations of bail conditions on a prior case prohibiting alcohol consumption and being in a place which sells alcohol. Brown was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On March 12:

● 3:35 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident, with reported injuries, at STH 69 and 6th Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Jacob W. Martin (20), Monroe, was eastbound on 6th Street, stopped at the flashing redlight at STH 69, proceeded into the intersection, and collided with a northbound vehicle on STH 69, operated by a 44-year-old Monroe woman. The 44-year-old Monroe woman reported a minor injury but declined EMS transport. Both vehicles sustained functional damages. Martin was cited for failure to yield right of way from a flashing red light, operating with a suspended registration, and operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance. Martin was released pending a court appearance.


Brodhead Police

On Feb. 13:

● 8:45 a.m., Police responded to the 2100 block of W 5th Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog at large. The owner was contacted and a warning was issued.

● 4:19 p.m., Police responded to the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of Suspicious Activity; subject being followed by a vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.

On Feb. 14:

● 6:55 p.m., Police responded to the 300 block of E 9th Ave. for a Traffic Hazard; a trampoline blown from a yard. The owner was located and retrieved the property.

● 8:22 p.m., a 27 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 100 block of 23rd St. for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License and Non-registration of Auto.

On Feb. 15:

12:38 p.m., Police responded to the 1200 block of E 3rd Ave. for the report of Trespassing; an unknown subject entered a residence. This matter remains under investigation.

● 5:48 p.m., a 38 year old Albany woman was arrested in the 1600 block of 1st Center Ave. for two counts of Retail Theft.

● 8:58 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of 10th St. for the report of an Animal Problem; dogs running at large. Police checked the area but did not locate the animals.

On Feb. 16:

8:13 a.m., Police responded to the 100 block of 23rd St. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a turning vehicle slid into another vehicle. The driver was warned for Operating too Fast for Conditions.

● 5:06 p.m., Police responded to the 200 block of E 5th Ave. for the report of Theft by Contractor. This matter remains under investigation.
