Brodhead Police
On May 9:
● 12:07am, a 51 year old Browntown man was arrested in the 700 block of 23rd St for Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Display of Unauthorized Plates, Improper Display of Plates, NonRegistration of an Automobile, Failure to Transfer Title, and No Proof of Insurance.
● 9:49am, Police were made aware of multiple code violations. These matters are still under investigation.
On May 15:
● 11:55am, Police responded to the N100 block of 1st Center Ave. for an Animal Problem; an owl caught in netting. With assistance from Brodhead Water & Light, the owl was removed from the netting and turned over to a rehabilitation center for care.
● 2:24pm, Police responded to the 1500 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; a reported sign in violation of City ordinance. Police checked the area and advised the sign did not violate City code.
On May 16:
● 11:17am, Police responded to the 500 block of W 2nd Ave for the report of a Code Violation; junk vehicles in yard. Officers made contact with the registered owner of the vehicles and the owner advised they were in the process of removing them from the property.
● 11:32am, a 30 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 1000 block of 21st St for Parent Contributing to Truancy.
● 1:36pm, the Police Department received a report of, in the 500 block of E 3rd Ave, an Animal Problem; dog whining outside for extended period of time. Prior to officer arrival, the complainant called back and advised the dog was brought back inside by the owner.
● 7:58pm, a 65 year old Freeport, IL man was cited in the 1700 block of E 9th Ave for Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.
On May 17:
● 12:14pm, Police responded to the 700 block of E 2nd Ave for the report of an Animal Problem; dog barking for extended period of time. When officers arrived in the area, the dog had stopped barking.
On May 18:
● 5:40pm, a 40 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 1200 block of 25th St for Non Registration of an Automobile.
On May 19:
● 11:37am, Police responded to the 1000 block of 21st St for the report of verbal Disorderly Conduct. Contact with both parties was made, and parties were instructed to separate for the night. Both parties did not want to press any charges.
● 2:25pm, a 17 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 2500 block of W 5th Ave for Truancy.
● 2:59pm, Police responded to the 1100 block of E 5th Ave for the report of an Animal Problem; dog found. Contact with owner was made, and the dog was returned. A verbal warning was issued for Dog At Large.
● 4:34pm, a 25 year old Monroe woman was cited in the 1400 block of 1st Center Ave for Operating Without a Valid Driver License.
On May 20:
● 3:37pm, a 26 year old Janesville man was cited in the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave for Operating After Suspension, Display of Unauthorized Plate, and Non-Registration of an Automobile.
● 6:48pm, a 19 year old Orangeville, IL woman was cited in the 400 block of 1st St for Speeding.
On May 29:
● 1:12am, Police responded to the 100 block of 23rd St. for Suspicious Activity; a vehicle in a business parking lot after hours. The vehicle was unoccupied; no other suspicious activity was located.
● 5:43pm, Police responded to the 700 block of 10th St. for the report of a Hazard; a tree across the sidewalk. Police remained on scene until Brodhead Public Works responded to remove the tree.
● 7:03pm, Police responded to the 400 block of 16th St. for the report of a Traffic Complaint; two vehicles racing in the area. Police checked the area but did not locate the offenders.
On May 30:
● 5:58pm, Police responded to the 1400 block of 14th St. for the report of an Animal Problem; an injured fox. The Department of Natural Resources was contacted and advised of the animal.
● 7:04pm, Police responded to the 700 block of E 8th Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; a fire pit without a cover. Contact was made and a warning was issued.
● 8:45pm, a 36 year old Rockford, IL, woman was arrested in the 500 block of E 9th Ave. for Operating While Intoxicated and Operating with a Prohibited Blood Alcohol Content. She was also cited for Speeding.
On May 31:
● 7:50am, Police responded to the 1600 block of 20th St. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; two subjects involved in a verbal altercation. Contact was made and the matter was resolved.
● 2:50pm, Police responded to the 2100 block of 21st St. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog left in a vehicle. The owner was contacted and advised of the complaint; the dog was checked and showed no signs of distress.
● 3:42pm, Police responded to the 900 block of 19th St. for the report of an Animal Problem; a cat bite. This matter was referred to the Green County Health Department.
● 5:19pm, Police responded to the E100 block of 23rd St. for the report of Fraud; a subject received notification their phone number and name were being used to attempt to get banking information. No information was released; informational case only.
● 6:11pm, a 28 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 1300 block of 1st Center Ave. for Operating after Revocation, Non-registration of Auto, and Failure to Transfer Title.
● 9:20pm, a 23 year old Beloit man was cited in the 300 block of 23rd St. for Speeding.
On June 2:
● 6:11pm, a 32 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 400 block of E 9th Ave. for Non-registration of Auto, Failure to Transfer Title, and Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance / No Proof on Person.
On June 3:
● 3:44am, Police responded to the 2000 block of E 3rd Ave. for a Hazard; a stove in the street. Police remained on scene until the item was removed.
● 11:17am, Police responded to the 400 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; a subject using profanities at a staff member. The complainant only wanted the incident documented.
● 5:06pm, Police responded to the 1600 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a bicyclist hit a moving car. This matter remains under investigation.
● 10:43pm, Police responded to the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for a Curfew Violation; four juveniles out past the City’s curfew hours. Contact was made and warnings were issued; all subjects were released to responsible parties.
On June 4:
● 5:11am, Police responded to the 500 block of E 3rd Ave. for the report of Suspicious Activity; an unknown subject entering a fenced in yard area. Police checked the area but did not locate the subject; no other suspicious activity was located.
Darlington Police
On May 9:
● Hector Ortez-Perea, age 41, of Darlington, was arrested on Monday, May 9, 2022, at approximately 6:17 PM, for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop on E. Louisa St. The stop was a result of a speeding offense on Hwy 23.
On May 16:
● Jai Laird, age 24, of Madison, was cited on Monday, May 16, 2022, at approximately 4:38 PM for operating after revocation following a traffic stop on Fayette RD.
On May 17:
● Jose Morales-Laureano, age 27, of Darlington, was arrested at approximately 1:30 PM, for operating after revocation following a traffic stop on W. River St. Morales-Laureano was also issued citations for speed (47 in a 25 MPH zone), no insurance, non-registration of auto, and allowing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. Morales-Laureano’s passengers, Noe Lanza-Salgado and Noe Carranza-Velasquez, were also cited for possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
On May 18:
● Elmer A. Artica-Avila, age 20, of Hempstead, New York, was arrested at approximately 11:18 PM, for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with children in the car following a traffic stop on STH 81. Artica-Avila was also cited for a violation of child safety restraint laws and unsafe lane deviation.
On May 21:
● Daniel Tlehuactle-Tlaxcaltecatl, age 33, of Darlignton, was cited at approximately 8:34AM, for operating without a valid license following a traffic stop on County Shop RD. Tlehuactle-Tlaxcaltecatl also received citations for non-registration of auto and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle.
● Mario Amaya-Baca, age 36, of Shullsburg, was cited at approximately 3:23 PM, for operating without a valid license on Spring ST following a traffic stop for speeding.
Green County Sheriff
On May 23:
● At approximately 12:19 AM, Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the N3700 block of STH 81, Town of Monroe, for speeding. Investigations resulted in the driver, Miguel E Aguilar-Hernandez, 21, of South Wayne, being arrested for operating while under the influence. Aguilar-Hernandez was further cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, speeding, and operating without a valid driver license. Aguilar-Hernandez was released pending court.
● At approximately 3:06 PM, Deputies responded to the N3000 block of State Highway 69, Town of Monroe, for a report of a two vehicle accident with no reported injuries. Investigations determined a vehicle operated by Alison Erskine, 18, of Monroe, was southbound on State Highway 69 when a vehicle operated by Betty Siedschlag, 88, of Monroe, abruptly turned, from a stop sign, in front of Erskine’s vehicle. Erskine and Siedschlag both denied injuries, both reported wearing seatbelts, and neither vehicle’s airbags deployed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Siedschlag was issued a citation for failure to yield a passing vehicle.
● At approximately 8:52 PM, Deputies responded to the W2300 block of County Highway EE, Town of Albany, for a report of disorderly conduct. Investigations resulted in Mark H McCoy, 52, of Albany, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct, False Imprisonment, and a probation hold issued through the Department of Corrections. McCoy was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.
On May 25:
● At approximately 10:28 AM, Deputies responded to the N8900 block of County Highway J, Town of York, for a one vehicle accident. The driver, Gordon A Durand, 71, of Verona, was southbound on County Highway J when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve in the roadway. Durand’s vehicle entered the East ditch where it rolled. Durand reported no injuries and advised wearing his seatbelt. Durand was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control and released with a court date
On May 28:
● At approximately 5:40 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W7400 block of State Highway 81, Town of Jordan. Investigation resulted in the operator, Keith A. Jackson, 54 of Monroe, being cited for Operating After Revocation. Keith was released with a future court date.
● At approximately 8:07 PM, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W3000 of County Highway EE, Town of Mt. Pleasant. Investigation resulted in the operator, Socorro Garcia-Hernandez, 32 of Monticello, being cited for Operating Without a Valid License — 2nd Offense within Three Years and for speeding. Socorro was released with a future court date.
● At approximately 2:06 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W2000 blk of County Highway EE, Town of Albany. Investigation resulted in the operator, Dominic D. Meyer, 20 of Garden Prairie, IL, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 1st offense. Dominic was also cited for Underage Consumption of Alcohol and for a Defective Rear Brake Lamp. Dominic was released to a responsible party pending a future court appearance.
On May 29:
● At approximately 11:35 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a UTV in the W5000 block of State Highway 59, Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the operator, Joshua R. Foulker, 42 of Monroe, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 1st Offense. Joshua was also issued a citation for Operating a UTV on a Non-designated Roadway. Joshua was released to a responsible party with a future court date.
● At approximately 2:51 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the N5800 block of County Highway J, Town of Adams. Investigation resulted in the operator, David S. Stampfli, 58 of Blanchardville, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 1st Offense. David was released to a responsible party with a future court date.
Lafayette County Sheriff
On May 18:
● 6:11 AM Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to CTH J, Village of Benton for a medical emergency. Benton Police Department assisted on scene.
● 7:18 AM Argyle EMS responded to W Milwaukee St, Village of Argyle for a medical emergency.
● 8:19 AM A deputy responded to W Water St, City of Shullsburg for a minor two vehicle accident.
● 11:20 AM A deputy responded to Hazel St, Village of Belmont for a check welfare.
● 12:08 PM Deputies responded to Lancaster Rd, Darlington Township for a disorderly conduct. As a result, Thomas J Ellefson, 69, Darlington was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Ellefson was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released.
● 4:38 PM A deputy responded to STH 81, Lamont Township for livestock on the roadway.
● 10:40 PM A deputy responded to Ingwell Rd, Blanchard Township for a traffic complaint of an erratic driver.
● 10:50 PM A deputy responded to STH 81, City of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a traffic stop.
On June 4:
● 1:13 AM A deputy responded to Landon RD, Kendall Township for livestock on the roadway.
● 3:26 AM Lafayette County EMS responded to Main ST in the City for a medical emergency.
● 1:21 PM A deputy responded to Riverbend RD, Wayne Township for a restraining order violation.

● 11:28 AM Toby S. Lakey, 44, Dayton OH was cited for Speeding on CTH W, White Oak Springs Township.
● 12:43 PM Jason A. Rutherford, 39, Hazel Green was cited for Speeding on STH 11, Shullsburg Township.
● 2:57 PM Gerard A. McKibben, 32, South Wayne was cited for Unnecessary Acceleration and Unreasonable/Imprudent Speed on CTH N, Wayne Township.
● 3:16 PM A deputy responded to School ST, Village of Gratiot for a bail jumping complaint.

● 9:48 PM Antonio Sarat-Hernandez, 40, Freeport was cited for Speeding, OWL, and Failure to Yield to Traffic Officer on STH 81, Seymour Township.
On June 6:
● 12:35 AM Argyle EMS responded to Mill St, Village of Argyle for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.
● 12:54 AM A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident versus livestock. Preston E Martin, 20, Shullsburg was traveling on CTH K when he struck a cow in the roadway. Martin’s 1999 Ford received severe damage and was driven from the scene.
● 1:18 AM A deputy responded to Mine Rd, Benton Township for a suspicious activity complaint.
● 6:52 AM Jerlin M Lopez-Aguirrez, 26, Shullsburg was arrested for Operating without a License on STH 11, Village of South Wayne. Lopez-Aguirrez was transported to the Lafayete County Jail where he was booked and released.
● 9:26 AM A deputy responded to CTH F, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway.
● 1:35 PM Belmont Fire Department responded to Burr Oak Rd, Kendall Township for a car fire.
Monroe Police
On May 22:
● At approximately, 11:46 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of 11st Street. Investigation resulted in Roneil G. Haynes, 41, Monroe being arrested for OWI- 1st offense. Roneil was also cited for improper parking on a roadway, Roneil was later released to a responsible party.
On May 23:
● At approximately 3:50 p.m. officers responded to the 2500 block of 12th Street for a domestic related incident. Subsequent investigation resulted in Tyler M. Schwartz, 30, Monroe being arrested for criminal damage to property and criminal damage to property with the use of a dangerous weapon. Tyler posted cash bond and released, pending a mandatory court date.
On May 25:
● At approximately 11:48 a.m. officers responded to the W. 8th Street and 1st Ave. for a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. Investigation revealed Robert L. Vickerman, 80 of Monroe was operating eastbound on W. 8th Ave, when he failed to stop at a red traffic control light, proceeding into the intersection of 1st Ave. and striking Kenneth J. Haffele, 62 of Monroe who was operating southbound on 1st Street at W. 8th Ave. Both subjects reported no injuries and drove from the scene. Robert was cited for failure to stop at a red light and was released pending court.
On June 3:
● At 8:33 p.m. officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of 4th Street. The investigation led to the arrest of Cesar I. Garcia Lopez (28), Monroe, on charges of battery and disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Garcia Lopez was released after posting cask bail, pending a court appearance.
On June 9:
● 6:05p.m. Officers arrested Dennis E. Beutel, 51, Monroe, after being called to a disturbance at a residence in the 2100 block of 15th Street. Beutel was charged with disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping. Beutel was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
