Green County Sheriff

On June 14:

●  At approximately 2:15 PM, Deputies attempted a warrant pick up in the area of W2900 Main St., Juda, for Travis J. Runke, 50 of Juda. Deputies made contact with Travis and placed him under arrest for his warrant through the Department of Corrections. Travis was housed at the Green County Jail. 

On June 16:

●  At approximately 7:54 AM, Deputies, responded to the W6700 block of County Highway H, Town of New Glarus, for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash.  Investigation determined the operator, Jared J. Chowaniac, 23 of New Glarus, was traveling west on CTH H, when there was a malfunction with a tire on his truck. Jared lost control of the vehicle and entered the ditch, which caused the vehicle to roll. The truck came to a rest on the passenger side, blocking both lanes of traffic.  The truck received disabling damage and there was airbag deployment. Jared reported wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries with no medical treatment being sought on scene. The roadway was closed for approximately one hour until the vehicle was able to be removed from the roadway.  

●  At approximately 12:47 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W5200 block of State Highway 11, Town of Monroe, for speed.   Investigation resulted in the operator, Hayden J. Arneson, 23 of Monticello, being placed under arrest for Operating a Motor vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 3rd Offense. Hayden was cited for Failure to Install Ignition Interlock Device and speed. Hayden was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending posting of his bond or his initial court appearance. 

On June 18:

●  At approximately 2:02 PM, Deputies responded to the N9500 block of Legler Rd, Town of Brooklyn, for a welfare check. As a result, Abby L Jensen, 35, of Brooklyn, was placed under arrest for a warrant through Green County. Jensen was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

●  At approximately 4:25 PM, Deputies along with the Brodhead Police Department, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Brodhead EMS, and Brodhead Fire, responded to the N2400 block of County Highway T, Town of Spring Grove. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Parker B Eccles, 20, of Byron, was southbound on County Highway T following a vehicle operated by Leonardo N Galluzzo, 18, of Roscoe, who was following another vehicle operated by Patrick E Ladue, 57, of Beloit. Galluzzo and Ladue slowed to turn eastbound onto W Hafeman Rd. Eccles failed to slow down, rear ending Galluzzo causing his vehicle to enter the East ditch where it overturned. Eccles vehicle continued southbound striking Ladue’s vehicle. Eccles, Galluzzo, and Ladue and their passengers denied injury and reported wearing their seatbelts. The airbags in Eccles’ vehicle deployed. The airbags in Galluzzo and Ladue’s vehicle did not deploy. Eccles and Galluzzo’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Ladue’s vehicle sustained functional damage. Eccles’ was cited for inattentive driving, failure to maintain control, and violating absolute sobriety. Eccles’ was released pending court.

●  At approximately 8:54 PM, Deputies responded to the N1900 block of State Highway 69, Town of Monroe, for a 911 hang up call. Investigation resulted in Derek J Rose JR, 28, of Orangeville, being arrested on an active warrant. Rose was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On June 20:

● At approximately 12:21 PM, Deputies responded to the N3000 block of Park Rd, Town of Decatur, for a single vehicle accident.

Investigation found that the driver, Kyli J Wilke, 22, of Albany, was northbound on Park Rd when she lost control of her vehicle while approaching a train traveling eastbound on the railroad tracks. Wilke took evasive action, struck a post, and entered the ditch. Wilke avoided a collision with the train. Wilke reported no injuries, reported wearing her seatbelt, and there was no airbag deployment. Wilke’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Wilke was cited for too fast for conditions. 

On June 22:

● At approximately 11:33 PM, Deputies responded to the 200 block of S Center St, Town of Cadiz, for a report of a disorderly subject creating a disturbance. Investigations resulted in Darrin A Gruenberg, 51, of Browntown, being arrested for battery and disorderly conduct. Gruenberg was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On June 25:

● At approximately 5:05 PM, Deputies responded to a reported hit and run in the 300 block of E. State St., Village of Albany.  Investigation resulted in the operator of the offending vehicle, Nicholas R. Kernan, 34 of Albany, being cited for Operating After Revocation due to OWI. Nicholas was released with a future court date. It was also determined that hit and run did not occur.   

● At approximately 2:27 AM, Deputies located a vehicle parked partially in the roadway in the N3100 block of CTH N, Town of Monroe.  Investigation resulted in the operator, Lee N. Gertsch, 20 of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 1st Offense. Lee was transported to the Green County Jail where he was later turned over to a responsible party with a future court date. Lee was also cited for Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. 


Brodhead Police

On May 27:

●  2:10pm, a 32 year old Brodhead man was arrested in the 400 block of E 6th Ave. for Domestic Disorderly 

●  8:43pm, Police responded to the 1300 block of 19th St. for a Traffic Complaint; vehicles doing burnouts on the street. Contact was made and warnings were issued for Disorderly Conduct with a Motor Vehicle. 

On May 28:

●  5:23 a.m., Police responded to the 500 block of E 2nd Ave for a report of Suspicious Activity; two subjects caught on surveillance footage walking on the complainant’s property. Complainant reported no theft or damage and requested the information be documented. 

On June 12:

●  12:46pm, Police responded to the 300 block of E 10th Ave for a report of a Weapon Offense; subject discharging firearm on their property. This matter remains under investigation. 

●  6:06pm, Police responded to the 600 block of 1st Center Ave for a report of an Animal Problem; dog at large. Contact with owner was made and a verbal warning was issued. 

On June 13:

●  6:16am, Police were notified of a traffic hazard in the 100 block of 8th St; tree down in roadway. Brodhead Street Department was contacted to remove the tree. 

●  8:52am, Police responded to the 1200 block of 16th St for a report of Fraud; subject did not receive product that they paid for. This case remains under investigation. 

●  10:52am, Police responded to the 1300 block of 13th St for a report of an Animal Problem; dogs at large. Police were able to locate dogs and verbal warnings were given to both owners for dogs at large. Both individuals were also given ten days to obtain dog licenses for the dogs. 

●  11:37am, Police responded to the 1100 block of W 5th Ave for a report of Trespassing; after interviewing both parties, it was determined that both individuals have permission to be on the property. No warnings or citations were issued. 

●  1:41pm, Police responded to the 400 block of W 3rd Ave for a report of Suspicious Activity; subject following people around the park. Police located the subject and a Trespassing warning was issued. 

On June 14:

● 1:11am, Police responded to the 400 block of W 3rd Ave for the report of a Code Violation; subject in park after hours. Contact with subject was made and a verbal warning for park hours was issued. 

● 7:48am, Police responded to the 700 block of E 3rd Ave for the report of a Hazard; subject spilled dirt in roadway. Contact with subject was made and roadway was cleared. 

● 2:16pm, Police were made aware via phone call of a Fraud that occurred; subjects received fraudulent IRS forms. Police filled out fraud forms for the individuals. 

● 3:13pm, Police responded to the 300 block of 3rd St for a report of an Animal Problem; dog acting aggressive when people walk by. Contact with dog owner was made and subject was advised they have 10 days to get a dog license. 

● 3:48pm, while on patrol, Police found trash in the roadway in the 200 block of E 9th Ave. Officers removed the items from the roadway.

● 5:59pm, a 21 year old Beloit man was warned in the 800 block of 19th St for Operating Dirt Bike on Roadway, Failure to Obtain ATV Certification & Failure to Register Off Highway Motor Vehicle. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

On June 8: 

●  11:22 AM A deputy responded to Silverthorn RD, New Diggings Township for a 911 misdial.

●  12:25 PM A deputy responded to CTH O, Seymour Township for livestock on the roadway.

●  12:51 PM A deputy responded to CTH O, Seymour Township for livestock on the roadway.

●  1:47 PM A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway.

●  1:49 PM A deputy responded to S Varnum ST in the Village of South Wayne for a minor two vehicle accident.

●  3:38 PM A deputy responded to Back RD, Elk Grove Township for a burglary.

●  5:47 PM A deputy responded to CTH Z, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway.

●  6:15 PM South Wayne First and Green County EMS responded to Lacey RD, Wayne Township for a medical emergency.

●  7:05 PM A deputy responded to CTH A, Shullsburg Township for a civil dispute.

●  8:59 PM Gregory P Gallagher, 68, Apple River, IL reported striking a deer on CTH O, Shullsburg Township. No injuries were reported and Gallagher’s 2019 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

●  9:13 PM A deputy responded to Beebe RD, Benton Township for livestock on the roadway.

On June 9:

●  1:40 AM A deputy responded to E Milwaukee ST in the Village of Argyle for an open door.

●  1:54 AM A deputy responded to Railroad ST in the Village of Argyle for check welfare.

●  6:30 AM A deputy responded to Hickory Drive RD, Belmont Township for livestock on the roadway.

●  11:13 AM Shullsburg EMS responded to Aetna RD, Shullsburg Township for a medical emergency. Shullsburg Police and a deputy assisted on scene.

●  2:17 PM A deputy responded to Park ST, Wiota Township for check welfare.

●  4:10 PM Dustin B Crego, 27, South Wayne was arrested for a Probation Violation and brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains in custody.

●  8:59 PM A deputy responded to W Main ST in the City of Shullsburg for a 911 misdial.

●  10:07 PM Kerry L Lattin, 45, Darlington reported striking a deer on STH 81, Seymour Township. No injuries were reported and Lattin’s 2017 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

●  10:15 PM A deputy responded to CTH G, Kendall Township for a traffic hazard.

On June11:

●  2:35 AM A deputy responded to STH 11, Village of South Wayne for a traffic complaint of an erratic driver.

●  9:33 AM Ingrid, L Artola, 35, South Wayne was cited for Operating without License and No Insurance on STH 11, Village of South Wayne. 

●  9:48 AM A deputy responded to STH 11, City of Shullsburg to assist with a vehicle unlock.

●  11:49 AM Southwest EMS responded to Hickory Drive Rd, Belmont Township for a medical emergency.  

●  12:06 PM A deputy responded to Engelke Dr, Village of Belmont for a citizen’s assist. 

●  1:17 PM Heavenly JL Miller, 18, Argyle reported striking a deer on STH 78, Argyle Township. Miller’s 2008 Ford received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

●  6:34 PM Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Alma St, Village of Benton for a medical emergency. 

●  7:13 PM A deputy responded to CTH KK, Gratiot Township for a keep the peace. 

●  9:00 PM Megan L Fitzsimons, 31, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH K, Darlington Township.  Fitzsimons’ 2018 GMC received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

●  9:13 PM Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS responded to Village Rd, Gratiot Township for a medical emergency.  Deputy assisted on scene. 

●  9:26 PM A deputy responded to Debuhr Ln, Town of Elk Grove for a check welfare. 

●  9:27 PM Argyle EMS and Argyle Fire responded to W Milwaukee St, Village of Argyle for a gas odor. 

●  9:39 PM Lafayette County EMS responded to STH 81, Darlington Township for a medical emergency.  Deputy assisted on scene. 

On June 10:

●  2:47 AM A deputy responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for a one vehicle accident.   Matthew J Buman, 50, Darlington was traveling on CTH G when he failed to negotiate a turn causing the vehicle to exit the roadway and enter the ditch. Buman’s 2004 Ford received severe damage and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Belmont EMS assisted on scene.


Monticello Police

On June 10:

●  At approximately 4:25 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Kimberly K. Qualley, 31, Monroe was cited for a driver seatbelt violation. 

On June 11:

● At approximately 6:52 p.m., officers responded within the village for a medical emergency call. Green County EMS and Monticello Fire First Response also responded.

● At approximately 8:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Main Street for a report of a subject that was in violation of his conditions for probation and parole. A short time later officers arrested Randall S. Zuber, 44, Darlington for a probation and parole violation. Zuber was transported and incarcerated at the Green County Jail. 

On June 13:

● At approximately 8:22 a.m., officers received a harassment complaint in the 600 block of E. Lake Avenue. The matter was resolved a short time later. 

● At approximately 1:29 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of E. Highland Avenue for a report of a cable that was down and laying across the sidewalk. The street department responded and took of the cable. No further action was needed. 

On June 14:

● At approximately 1:49 p.m., officers responded to check compliance of a municipal code violation in the 200 block of E. Lake Avenue.  As a result, Eric B. Carroll, 63, Brodhead was cited for regulation on length of grass being in excess of 8 inches. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 2:42 p.m., officers assisted a citizen in the 500 block of S. Monroe Street who had been contacted by a subject involved in a scam. The subject wanted the citizen to electronically wire money for a family member that had been arrested. This was in fact found to be a scam.
