On May 25:
● 8:14pm, a 37 year old Brodhead man was arrested in the 1400 block of W 4th Ave. for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and a Probation Hold.
● 8:28pm, Police responded to the 300 block of 3rd St. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog running at large. The owner was contacted and a warning was issued.
On May 26:
● 7:48am, Police responded to the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; two vehicle revving engines on school property. Contact was made and warnings were issued for Disorderly Conduct with a Motor Vehicle.
● 3:25pm, Police responded to the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of a Traffic Complaint; a disabled vehicle in the roadway. Police checked the area but did not locate the vehicle.
● 6:29pm, Police responded to the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of Trespassing; an unwanted subject on the premises. This matter remains under investigation.
● 7:18pm, Police responded to the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; two subjects in a verbal altercation. Contact was made and a warning was issued.
On May 27:
● 4:23am, Police responded to the 1400 block of 21st St. for the report of Suspicious Activity; a vehicle in the parking lot after hours. The area was checked and the vehicle belonged on the property. No other suspicious activity was observed.
● 8:42am, a 65 year old Brodhead woman was cited in the 2300 block of W 5th Ave. for Failure to Stop for School Bus.
● 12:15pm, a 40 year old Beloit woman was cited in the 1900 block of E 9th Ave. for Speeding.
Green County Sheriff
On June 9:
● At approximately 1:13 PM, Deputies along with Browntown Fire responded to the W9500 block of County Highway MM, Town of Cadiz, for a single vehicle accident. Investigations resulted in the driver, Vincent J Ardis, 46, Monroe, being arrested for OWI-3rd offense. Ardis was further cited for Operating while Revoked and Failure to maintain control of vehicle. Ardis and his passenger, identified as Briana D Mendez, 24, of Monroe, were not injured as a result of the crash, both reported wearing seatbelts, and no airbag deployment. Ardis’ vehicle was towed from the scene. Ardis was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At approximately 2:33 PM, Deputies responded to the probation and parole office for a subject believed to be violating conditions of bond. Investigations resulted in Shawn Boss, 22, of Monroe, being arrested for violating his condition of bond. Boss was taken into custody and jailed at the Green County Jail.
● At 3:14 PM, Deputies responded to the probation and parole office for a subject to be taken into custody. Carly J Arneson, 24, of Monroe, was taken into custody on a probation hold and incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At approximately 10:43 PM, Deputies and New Glarus PD responded to the N7900 block of County Highway CC, Town of Exeter, for a report of disorderly conduct. Investigations resulted in Kayla D Chappell, 26, of Belleville being arrested for battery and disorderly conduct. Chappell was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending the posting of bond or an initial court appearance.
On June 10:
● At approximately 12:40PM, Peter J Knutson, 43, of Monroe, turned himself in at the Green County Sheriff’s Department. Knutson was taken into custody on a probation/parole warrant. Knutson was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At approximately 4:56 PM, Deputies responded to the W4500 block of Witt Rd, for information about an individual violating conditions of bond. Investigations resulted in Kelly Guzman, 35, of Beloit, being arrested for felony bail jumping. Guzman was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At approximately 6:09 PM, Deputies along with Albany EMS, Albany Fire, and Brodhead EMS, responded to the N4800 block of County Highway F for a single vehicle rollover accident. Investigations found the driver, Ashley Finley, 32, of Brodhead was southbound on County Highway F when she became distracted. Finley entered the gravel on the West side of the road, over-corrected, and struck an embankment on the West side of the roadway. As a result the vehicle turned over onto its roof. Finley and one of her juvenile passengers reported no injuries, another juvenile passenger reported injuries and was transported by EMS. Finley reported she and her juvenile passengers were not wearing seatbelts and there was no airbag deployment. Finley’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Finley was cited for failure to maintain control, operate without insurance, non-registration of a vehicle, and inattentive driving.
On June 11:
● At approximately 9:39 PM, Deputies along with the Brooklyn Fire Department responded to the N9600 block of Glenway Rd, Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a single vehicle accident with no injuries. The driver was identified as Ashley J Pratt, 38, of Albany, who reported driving southbound on Glenway Rd when she became distracted and entered the ditch. Pratt reported no injuries, reported wearing her seatbelt, and the airbag deployed. Pratt’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
On June 12:
● At approximately 4:34 AM, Deputies along with Browntown Fire and Green County EMS responded to the W8000 block of County Highway P, Town of Cadiz, for a report of a single vehicle accident. Investigations found the driver, Emma Sanchez Chipahua, 22, of Monroe, was westbound on County Highway P when she failed to negotiate a curve due to the fog. Sanchez Chipahua’s vehicle left the roadway and traveled down an embankment where it overturned. Sanchez Chipahua sustained injury and was transported by EMS. Sanchez Chipahua reported wearing her seatbelt. There was airbag deployment. As a result of the crash Sanchez Chipahua’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Sanchez Chipahua was cited for operating without a valid driver license (2nd within three years) and driving too fast for conditions.
Monticello Police
On May 18:
● At approximately 2:05 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Department with a hit and run motor vehicle crash. This happened on State Hwy 69 and Pierce Road. Officers assisted on the scene until they were advised that they could return to the village. The Green County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
On May 19:
● At approximately 12:57 p.m., Officers received a complaint of a code violation, grass in excess of 8” tall in the 400 block of E. Lake Avenue. Officers responded and made contact with the home owner who had been mowing portions of the lawn. No further action needed at this time.
● At approximately 3:28 p.m., Officers received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on State Hwy 69 and W. Lake Avenue. The vehicle was not located.
On May 20:
● At approximately 7:12 a.m., Officers received a complaint of grass that is in excess of 8”. This was located at a residence located in the 200 block of E. Lake Avenue. As a result, Eric B. Carroll, Brodhead was cited for this violation. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 7:21 a.m., Officers received a complaint of grass that is in excess of 8”. This was located at a residence located in the 400 block of E. Lake Avenue. After contact was made, the resident finished mowing.
● At approximately 2:12 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of S. Monroe Street for a reported motor vehicle crash. A vehicle backed into a parked vehicle.
● At approximately 3:38 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of Garfield Street for a 911 hang up call. After offices arrived at the location, they made contact with the caller who advised that the call was accidental. Officers confirmed that everything was okay at the residence.
May 21st, 2022
● At approximately 11:12 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Pratt Road for a report of a dog running at large. The dog was later found and returned to its owner.
● At approximately 11:51 a.m., Officers received a lost property complaint. A resident reported losing a set of vehicle keys in the village.
● At approximately 5:12 p.m., Officers received a lost property complaint. A resident reported losing a set of keys sometime this week in the village.
● At approximately 5:20 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Main Street for a 911 hang up call. Contact was made with the caller. The 911 call was accidental and everything was found to be okay.
● At approximately 11:45 p.m., Officers received a loud noise complaint in the 400 block of N. Monroe Street. Contact was made with the owner and the matter was resolved.
On May 22:
● At approximately 6:33 p.m., Officers received a traffic/driving complaint in the 300 block of S. Main Street. It was report that a black pick-up truck was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed. The caller was able to take a picture of the truck. As a result, the driver was identified and Jacob N. Trickel, Monroe was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
On May 24:
● At approximately 8:05 a.m., Officers took a vandalism report in the 500 block of W. Coates Avenue. It was found that vehicles side window was shattered. The incident remains under investigation.
● At approximately 12:02 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a suspicious person complaint. Contact was made and everything was found to be okay.
On May 25:
● At approximately 8:29 a.m., Officers received an animal complaint in the 500 block of S. Main Street. Several stray kittens were found in the area. The kittens were taken to the Green County Humane Society.
On May 26:
● At approximately 11:57 a.m., Officers received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of Urban Road. The vehicle was located and contact was made with the owner. The vehicle had been damaged in a prior crash and arrangements had already been made for the vehicle to be towed from this location. No further action needed.
● At approximately 1:06 p.m., Officers received a possible sex offense complaint that occurred at an undisclosed location in the village. The matter is currently under investigation.
● At approximately 6:07 p.m., Officers responded to the 600 block of Washington Street for a vehicle unlock. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.
● At approximately 7:38 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Garfield Street for a welfare check/possible suicidal person. Contact was made with the person in question. Everything was found to be okay and there was no need for further action.
On May 27:
● At approximately 6:35 a.m., Offices received a disorderly conduct complaint in the 300 block of S. Main Street. The incident remains under investigation.
● At approximately 12:11 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of E. Coates Avenue for a civil dispute/keep the peace incident. Contact was made with both subjects involved. No further action was needed.
● At approximately 1:41 p.m., Officers responded to the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for a reported one vehicle motor vehicle crash with airbag deployment and injuries. Green County EMS and Monticello Fire and Fire First Response also responded. The crash remains under investigation.
● At approximately 3:01 p.m., Officers received a suspicious person/vehicle report in the 300 block of S. Main Street. Contact was made with the vehicle’s driver.
● At approximately 6:41 p.m., Officers received a barking dog complaint from a citizen in the 200 block of N. Main Street. The incident is pending due to waiting for further information from the complainant.
On May 28:
● At approximately 9:09 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a car versus deer crash in the W4800 block of State Hwy 69. Green County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash.
On May 31:
● At approximately 9:05 p.m., Officers were notified of a 911 hang up call in the 300 block of E. Coates Avenue. Contact was made with the caller. Everything was found okay and it was found to be a misdial.
On June 1:
At approximately 6:25 p.m., Offices were dispatched to the 200 block of W. North Avenue for an accidental 911 call. Contact was made with the caller. Everything was found to be okay. It was found to be a misdial.
On June 2:
● At approximately 1:33 p.m., Officers received a report of a lost driver’s license in the village.
● At approximately 1:59 p.m., Officers were requested to assist the Monroe Police Department with an investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
● At approximately 3:40 p.m., Offices received information about a possible harassment incident that took place in the 100 block of E. Lake Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
On June 3:
● At approximately 12:46 p.m., Officers received a report of some keys that were lost in the village. If keys are found please turn them into the police department.
On June 4:
● At approximately 5:29 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of State Hwy 69 for a reported civil dispute. After officers made contact the dispute was resolved.
On June 6:
● At approximately 3:52 p.m., Officers were contacted by a citizen who wanted to retrieve items from a family member. The citizen was advised the matter was civil in nature. That if they were not able to retrieve the items, they would have to contact an attorney.
On June 7:
● At approximately 9:25 a.m., Officers received a complaint of a citizen grass that was excessively long and in violation of the village ordinance. A warning letter was left at the residence requesting compliance to the ordinance.
On June 8:
● At approximately 9:23 a.m., Officers received a parking complaint in the 400 block of N. Main Street. The owner was contacted and the matter was resolved a short time later
On June 9:
● At approximately 9:48 a.m., Officers conducted a vehicle unlock in the 200 block of N. Main Street. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.
● At approximately 10:47 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation in the 100 block of State Hwy 69. As a result of the traffic stop, Victor Leonel Palma Murillo, 28, Darlington was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license and window tinting exceeding the legal limit.
● At approximately 11:13 a.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of E. Highland Avenue for a report of a wire down and laying across the lanes of traffic. It was determined to be coax cable. The cable was removed from the roadway.
● At approximately 12:47 p.m., Officers received some found property, a football by a citizen. The football was placed into found property until the owner is located.
● At approximately 5:47 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of E. Lake Avenue for a reported gas drive off. The driver of the vehicle was identified and contacted. The driver returned and made full payment.
On June 10:
● At approximately 3:32 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Nicholas C. Maveus, 26, Monroe was cited for a driver seatbelt violation.
● At approximately 4:13 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Cole D. Syvrud, 26, Mount Horeb was cited for a vehicle insurance violation. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
Monroe Police
On June 21:
● At 9:33 p.m. a Monroe officer initiated a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 17 Ave. An investigation into the traffic stop led to the arrest of Miguel R. Alonso, 50 of Monroe for OWI (4th offense). Miguel provided a PBT on scene of .29%. After a legal blood draw and medical clearance, Miguel was transported to the Green County Jail where he remains pending a mandatory court apperance.
On June 23:
● At 5:17 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of 9th for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation revealed Darrell Scace, 50 of Monroe, was traveling east on 9th Street and came to a stop at the redlight at the intersection of 16th Avenue and 9th Street when his vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle driven by Colton J. Nolty, 18 of Monroe. Colton informed the officers on scene he did not see Scace’s vehicle come to a stop and ran into the backend of his vehicle. Scace reported soresness to left arm and Nolty reported having a headache and sore neck. Both Scace and Nolty declined EMS. Nolty was issued a citation for Inattentive Driving.
