Green County Sheriff

On Feb. 12:

● At 2:13 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the N5500 block of Shea Lane, in the Town of Albany for a 911 misdial. Investgation resulted in Gina K. Allen, 51 of Albany being arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Battery (domestic related). Allen was released to a responsible party after posting bond.

● At 7:49 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the N5500 block of Shea Lane, in the Town Albany for the report of an injunction violation. Investigation resulted in Gina K. Allen, 51 of Albany being arrested for violating a no contact order. Allen was incarcerated at the Iowa County Jail pending court.

On Feb. 13:

● At approximately 10:52 p.m., Deputies stopped and cited David Wills, 16, for speed, 82 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone, and for Operating Without Proof of Insurance in the W7800 block of STH 11, Town of Cadiz. Subsequently, the passenger, Antron D. Evans Jr., 18 of South Wayne, was cited for Possession of THC - Less Than 25 Grams. Both subjects were released with future court dates.

On Feb. 16:

● At 11:53 a.m., Deputies responded to the W600 block of Dunphy Road, in the Town of Albany for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Emma R. Riese, 19 of Belleville was traveling east when she lost control of the vehicle due to the snowy road conditions. Riese’s vehicle entered the ditch and came to rest. Riese advised she was not injured, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Riese’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

● At 12:16 p.m., Deputies responded to the W5200 block of County Highway KK, in the Town of Monroe for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by David P. Lovett, 87 of Monroe was backing when he collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound. Lovett was not injured, was not wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Lovett’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Lovett was cited for unsafe backing and was released pending court.

● The eastbound vehicle was operated by Scott D. Cernek, 61 of Gratiot. Cernek reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Cernek’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

On Feb. 19:

● At 2:58 p.m., Deputies responded to the W1400 blk of Ten Eyk Rd, Decatur Township, for a one vehicle accident.  Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Hunter A. Foster, 16, of Juda, was traveling west on Ten Eyk Rd, when Foster lost control of the vehicle due to ice on the roadway.  Foster was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt.  There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene. 

● At 6:09 p.m., Deputies responded to the N2200 block of Cadiz Springs Road, Town of Cadiz, for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by David J. Madsen, 53, of Monroe was traveling eastbound. Madsen reported losing control of his vehicle. The vehicle then entered the north ditch and collided with a tree. Madsen was not injured, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did deploy. Madsen’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation resulted with Madsen being arrested for Operate Under the Influence (1st- Alcohol). Madsen was later released pending court.


Brodhead Police

On Jan. 27:

● 2:04p.m., Police responded to the 1200 block of 17th St. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; a subject causing a disturbance. Contact was made and the matter was resolved.

On Jan. 28:

● 1:15 p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of W 3rd Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog at large. Police checked the area but did not locate the dog.

On Jan. 29:

15 citations were issued for violation of the Winter Parking ordinance.

● 4:46 p.m. Police responded to the 1200 block of 16th St. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog at large. Police checked the area but did not locate the dog. 

● 9:30 p.m., Police responded to the 2400 block of 1st Center Ave. for an Alarm. No suspicious activity or breaking in was located.

On Jan. 30:

1:24 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of 6th St. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; a subject causing adisturbance. Contact was made and the matter was resolved. 

● 3:01 p.m., Police responded to the 900 block of W Exchange St. for the report of a Code Violation; trash being left by a dumpster. The complainant requested extra patrol.

On Jan. 31:

● 8:07 a.m., a 42 year old Brodhead woman was cited for violation of the City’s 48-hour parking ordinance. -1:39pm, Police responded to the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave (East Alley) for the report of Damage to Property; a piece of construction equipment slid on the ice into a building. No citations were issued.

On Feb. 1:

● 11:53 a.m.,Police responded to the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a vehicle backed into another vehicle. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 5:03 p.m., Police responded to the 2100 block of W 9th Ave. for the report of Disorderly Conduct; a subject causing a disturbance. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

● 9:17 p.m., a 28 year old Monroe man was cited in the 400 block of 1st St. for Speeding.

On Feb. 2:

● 9:04 p.m., Police responded to the 1400 block of 21st St. for the report of an Animal Problem; two dogs running at large. Police checked the area but did not locate the dogs. 

● 11:27 a.m., a juvenile was cited in the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for Truancy. 

On Feb. 4:

● 7:52 a.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave for the report of Suspicious Activity; vehicle missing. Officers patrolled area and were able to locate the vehicle in a different parking lot. No additional suspicious activity was found.

● 8:02 a.m., Police responded to the 1500 block of 1st Center Ave for the report of a Parking Complaint; subject parked illegally in handicapped stall. Officers investigated and found the vehicle to be legally parked. 

● 3:00 p.m., Police responded to the 1300 block of E 7th Ave for the report of an Animal Problem; dogs at large. Officers patrolled area, but were unable to locate the dogs. 

On Feb. 5:

11:59p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave. for Trespassing; a subject in the demolition area. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

On Feb. 6:

● 1:43 p.m., Police responded to the 1900 block of W 4th Ave. for the report of Trespassing; an unwanted subject on the property. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

● 3:11 p.m., Police responded to the 100 block of Juniper Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog at large. The dog was not claimed and was transported to the Green County Humane Society.

● 8:54 p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 19th St. for the report of Suspicious Activity; an unknown person on the property. Police made contact with the subject and determined the subject was at the wrong address.


Monticello Police

On Dec. 24:

● At approximately 7:05 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of S. Madison Street for a parking complaint.  A parking citation for violation of the 24-Hour sparking ordinance was issued.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 7:07 a.m., Officers issued a parking citation in the 300 block of E. Highland Avenue.  This was for parking in a direction different than the flow of traffic.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Jan. 9:

● At approximately 9:58 a.m., Officers received a fraud report in the 100 block of S. Garfield Street. The investigation is ongoing.

● At approximately 10:34 a.m., Officers had received a report of a 911 call in the area 100 block of E. Coates Avenue.  Contact was made with the caller.  It was found to be an accidental dial. No further action was needed. 

On Jan. 10:

● At approximately 11:04 a.m., Officers received a fraud report in the 700 block of Washington Street. Investigation revealed it was not a fraud. 

● At approximately 12:42 p.m., Officers served papers.

● At approximately 11:04 a.m., Officers assisted the Madison Police Department with an investigation. 

On Jan. 11:

● At approximately 11:33 a.m., Officers assisted a citizen with questions in regards to registration. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

On Jan. 26:

● 5:20 a.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to White School Rd, Town of Monticello for a medical emergency.  

● 6:22 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Summit Av, City of Darlington for a medical emergency. 

● 7:51 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to STH 23, City of Darlington for a one vehicle accident. Darlington Police Department and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene. 

● 9:34 a.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to White School Rd, Town of Monticello for a medical emergency.

● 10:11 a.m. A deputy responded to W Estey St, City of Shullsburg to assist the Shullsburg Police Department with a check welfare.  Shullsburg EMS assisted on scene.

● 11:04 a.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to Francis St, City of Shullsburg for a medical emergency.
