On Oct. 11:

● 3:00 p.m. A deputy responded to Riverside Rd, Town of Wiota for livestock on the roadway.

● 5:54 p.m. A deputy responded to Galena St, City of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a commercial alarm. 

● 6:36 p.m. Joseph D Otte, 39, Rewey reported striking a deer on W Mound Rd, Town of Belmont.  Otte’s 2018 Mitsubishi received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 7:37 p.m. Deputies responded to S Splinter St, City of Cuba City for a check welfare. 

● 10:24 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH XX, Belmont Township to assist the Belmont Police Department on a traffic stop.  As a result, Donovan L Walker, Clute TX was cited for Passing in a no Passing Zone.

On Oct. 12:

● 7:07 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Argyle Township for a one vehicle accident, no injuries were reported. Kaden J Hartwig, 18, Argyle was traveling southbound on STH 78 in his 2016 Toyota when he lost control of his vehicle and slid into the ditch. Minor damage was reported and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

● 9:11 a.m. Belmont EMS responded to S Mound AV in the Village for a medical emergency. Belmont Police assisted on scene.

● 1:39 p.m. A deputy responded to Dawn Vista DR in the Village of Belmont for criminal damage.

● 1:48 p.m. A deputy responded to W Liberty ST in the Village of Belmont for an injured dog.

● 5:29 p.m. A deputy responded to Dump RD, Benton Township for check welfare.

● 8:39 p.m. Argyle EMS responded to Valley RD, Argyle Township for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 8:51 p.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to East ST in the City for a possible house fire. No damage was reported. Darlington Police assisted on scene.

On Oct. 13:

● 12:24 a.m. A deputy responded to Stone Hill AV in the Village of Belmont to assist Belmont Police with disorderly conduct.

● 4:05 a.m. Jose R Cerna-Amador, 38, Darlington was cited for Speeding, No Insurance, and Operating without a valid Driver’s License on STH 23, Darlington Township.

● 7:02 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH M, Wiota Township for an abandoned vehicle.

● 10:05 a.m. A deputy responded to E Main ST in the Village of Benton for check welfare.

● 10:54 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to East ST in the City of Darlington for a medical emergency. Darlington Police assisted on scene.

● 10:53 a.m. A deputy responded to W Liberty ST in the Village of Belmont for check welfare.

● 11:52 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to E Catherine ST in the City of Darlington for a medical emergency. Darlington Police assisted on scene.

● 6:07 p.m. Ann L Marty, 62, Blanchardville reported striking a deer on STH 78, Blanchard Township. No injuries were reported and Marty’s 2009 Dodge received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 4:29 a.m. A deputy responded to N Maple St, Village of Apple River to assist the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office with a check welfare. 

● 5:37 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to STH 81, City of Darlington for a medical emergency. Deputies assisted on scene.

● 7:12 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Gratiot Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 9:56 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH KK, Gratiot Township for a juvenile problem. 

● 10:01 p.m. Argyle EMS responded to N Broad St, Village of Argyle for a medical emergency.

● 12:03 p.m. Deputies responded to CTH G, Fayette for a vehicle versus pole accident. Kayla M Bender, 31, Mineral Point was traveling on CTH G when she lost control of her vehicle, causing her to exit the roadway, enter the ditch and strike a pole. Darlington Fire Department, Lafayette County EMS and Scenic Rivers Energy all assisted on scene. Bender’s 2021 Mitsubishi received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Bender was transported to Upland Hills by EMS for minor injuries. 

● 1:44 p.m. Darlington Fire Department responded to Center Dr, City of Darlington for a possible fire. Darlington Police Department and Lafayette County EMS assisted on scene.

● 2:53 p.m. A deputy responded to River Rd, Argyle Township for an animal noise. 

● 3:44 p.m. Deputies responded to State Line Rd, Town of Wayne for a suspicious vehicle. South Wayne Fire, Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office, Green County Sheriff’s Office, Argyle Fire Department, Browntown Fire Department and Winslow Fire Department assisted on scene. 

● 4:52 p.m. Deputies responded to Whaley Ct, Village of Benton for a check welfare. 

● 5:53 p.m. Deputies responded to Ames Rd, Darlington Township for a suspicious activity complaint.  

● 6:57 p.m. Tyler J McNeill, 40, Hollandale reported striking a deer on Cannon Rd, Town of Fayette. McNeill’s 2016 Ram received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 8:17 p.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 10:01 p.m. Blanchardville EMS responded to STH 78, Town of Blanchard for a medical emergency.  Blanchardville Police Department assisted on scene. 

On Oct. 15:

● 12:21 a.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 1:49 a.m. Theodore D Daggett, 24, Bayard IA was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated (1st) and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on Center Hill Rd, City of Darlington. Darlington Police Department assisted on scene. Daggett was released to a responsible party. 

● 3:08 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, New Diggings Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 9:39 a.m. A deputy responded to N Happy St, City of Shullsburg for a check welfare. 

● 1:27 p.m. Deputies responded to Summit Rd, Town of Shullsburg for a domestic dispute. As a result, Keven A Morrison, 66, Shullsburg was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Morrison was transported to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office where he remains in custody.  

● 3:02 p.m. Deputies responded to S McKnight St, Village of South Wayne for a civil dispute.  

● 3:20 p.m. A deputy responded to East St, Village of Blanchardville to assist the Blanchardville Police Department with a traffic stop. As a result, Mathu T Jennings. 23, Argyle was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated (1st). Jennings was transported to the Lafayette County Jail and was later released to a responsible party. 

● 3:59 p.m. Sharon K Parkinson, 66, Blanchardville reported striking a deer on STH 78, Argyle Township. Parkinson’s 2011 Hyundai received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 7:03 p.m. A deputy responded to Whaley Ct, Village of Benton for a citizen’s assist. 

● 8:23 p.m. Robert A Fisher, 38, Shullsburg reported striking a deer on STH 11, Gratiot Township. Fisher’s 2009 Kia received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 10:50 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, City of Shullsburg for an animal problem. 

On Oct. 16:

● 12:36 a.m. Deputies responded to S McKnight St, Village of South Wayne for a report of disorderly conduct. 

● 1:20 a.m. Deputies responded to STH 11, Shullsburg Township for a one vehicle rollover. Peter J Fagan, 49, Ontario was traveling on STH 11 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, enter a ditch and roll over several times. Fagan’s 2002 Ford received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Fagan was transported by Shullsburg EMS to Lafayette County Memorial Hospital and later taken by helicopter to UW Madison for life-threatening injuries. Shullsburg EMS, Shullsburg Fire and UW Madison Med Flight assisted. Fagan was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and Operating while Intoxicated (12th) will be referred to the District Attorney. 

● 3:10 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Town of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a traffic stop. 

● 6:29 a.m. Nancy K Clauer, 69, Darlington, reported striking a deer on STH 81, Argyle Township. Clauer’s 2016 Ford received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 8:26 a.m. A deputy responded to Fort Defiance Rd, Town of Willow Springs for a civil dispute. 

● 9:25 a.m. A deputy responded to Main St, Village of Blanchardville for a 911 misdial. 

● 11:01 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, Town of New Diggings for a restraining order violation.

● 12:49 a.m. Joshua C. Davis, 50, Oklahoma was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on CTH W, White Oak Springs Township.

● 8:01 a.m. Michelle A. McClory, 61, Elkhorn reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. McClory’s 2019 Jeep received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 9:33 a.m. A deputy responded Main ST, Village of Blanchardville for a check welfare. Blanchardville EMS assisted on scene.

● 2:19 p.m. Benton Fire and Benton First Response responded to CTH W, New Diggings Township for a grass fire. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 5:58 p.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Fayette RD, City of Darlington for a medical emergency. Darlington Police assisted on scene. 

● 6:12 p.m. Shullsburg Fire and Shullsburg EMS and deputies responded to CTH O, Shullsburg Township for a 2 vehicle accident. Montanna R. Kiel, 20, Darlington was traveling northbound on CTH O in her 2018 Ford, when she crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Heather P. Ortiz, 43, Shullsburg. No injuries were reported. Both Kiel’s Ford and Ortiz’s 2015 Kia received disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Kiel was cited for Operating Left of Center and Inattentive Driving.  

● 7:24 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Darlington Township for a two vehicle accident. Connor F. Kingzette, 18, Harvard, IL was traveling on STH 81 in his 2004 Volkswagen, when he quickly slowed to yield to an Amish buggy and was rear-ended by a 2014 Hyundai driven by Brady J. Katzenberger, 22, Freeport. No injuries were reported. Katzenberger’s vehicle received minor damage, whereas Kingzette’s vehicle received minor damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 8:10 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township for a check welfare. 

On Oct. 25:

● 7:56 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Darlington Township for an animal injured on the roadway.

● 2:33 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Shullsburg Township to assist the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

● 6:49 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Town of Fayette for livestock on the roadway. 

● 7:25 p.m. A deputy responded to E Platteville Av, Village of Belmont to assist the Belmont Police Department with a two vehicle accident.  

● 8:35 p.m. A deputy responded to E Center St, Village of South Wayne for a suspicious vehicle. 

● 9:38 p.m. Deputies responded to STH 81, Elk Grove Township for a one vehicle rollover. Alvin A Dehoyos, 34, Saint Donatus, IA was traveling on STH 126 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, enter the ditch and rollover several times. Belmont Fire, Belmont Police Department, Belmont EMS and Southwest Health EMS all assisted on scene. Dehoyo’s was transported by EMS to Southwest Health Center.  Dehoyo’s 2010 GMC received severe damage and was towed from the scene.  

● 10:55 p.m. A deputy responded to Main St, Village of Gratiot for a restraining order violation.  

On Oct. 26:

● 3:37 a.m. Deputies responded to Dunbarton RD, Gratiot Township for an alarm.

● 6:13 a.m. Matthew S. Ritchie, 41, Darlington reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Township. Ritchie’s 2002 Jeep received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 7:08 a.m. A deputy responded to Wood ST, Village of Belmont for a report of criminal damage. 

● 8:24 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for a hit and run. 

● 9:20 a.m. Deputies responded to W Main ST, Village of Benton for an alarm. Shullsburg Police assisted on scene. 

● 9:42 a.m. Benton Police responded to Galena ST in the Village for a report of criminal damage. Deputies assisted on scene.

● 10:17 a.m. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Alma ST in the Village for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene. 

● 10:43 a.m. Deputies responded to CTH F, Fayette Township for a burglary report.

● 11:22 a.m. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Alma ST in the Village for a medical emergency.

● 3:04 p.m. Donavon L. Smith, 32, Nora, Il. was arrested in Dubuque on a valid Lafayette County warrant. Smith was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked. 

● 3:17 p.m. A deputy responded to Trotter RD, Wiota Township for a report of criminal damage. 

● 4:07 p.m. A deputy responded to County Shop RD, Darlington Township for a traffic hazard. 


Green County Sheriff

On Oct. 4:

● At approximately 4:06 a.m., Deputies responded to the W4900 block of Town Center Rd., in the Town of Clarno, for a report of a vehicle crash. Upon deputies arrival there was no one around the car and it was impounded. During follow up investigation it was learned Sydney L. Curran, 21, of Juda was travelling westbound, when she attempted to turn around, and then entered the north ditch where she became stuck. Sydney was wearing her seatbelt at the time of incident and was uninjured. She called for a friend to pick her up. Sydney was cited for failure to notify police of an accident. She was released pending court.

● At approximately 7:56 a.m., Deputies were notified of a two vehicle accident with no injuries in the W5900 block of State Highway 11, Town of Monroe. During the investigation it was learned a vehicle operated by Tara L. Cheatham, 40, of South Wayne, was stopped at the top of the exit ramp waiting to turn southbound on STH 69. A vehicle operated by Elina R. Thompson, 16, of Browntown, collided with the back of Cheatham’s vehicle. Both driver’s were wearing seatbelts and denied being injured. There was no airbag deployment. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Thompson was cited for following too close. She was released pending court.

On Oct. 5:

● At approximately 9:09 a.m. Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash with no injuries on CTH F at Decatur Rd, Town of Decatur. A semi/silage box driven by Brandon Lee Suiter, 31, Brodhead, was stopped, southbound, on CTH F, waiting to turn east onto Decatur Rd. A non-contact semi/silage box was stopped at the stop sign on Decatur Rd, going to turn northbound onto CTH F.  An SUV, driven by Tamala R Worm, 60, Brodhead, was stopped behind Suiter, waiting for the semi unit to turn.  Suiter started to back up in the lane of traffic to allow room for the non-contact semi unit to be able to make the right turn. Suiter looked in his mirrors, but could not see Worm’s SUV behind it, and backed into it. Suiter advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment. The rear of the silage box sustained no damage and was driven from the scene. Worm reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment, and her vehicle sustained functional damage to the hood and front end of the vehicle. Her vehicle was driven from the scene. Suiter was cited for unsafe backing and released pending court.

● At approximately 6:40 p.m., Deputies responded to the N6900 block of CTH J, in the Town of Adams for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries. During the investigation it was learned a vehicle driven by Dillan W. Van Valkenburg, 17, of Blanchardville, was traveling northbound on CTH J when his two passenger side tires went down onto the shoulder. Dillan attempted to correct the vehicle to get back onto the roadway. Dillan overcorrected, and the vehicle overturned onto its hood. Dillan and his passenger Jackson G. Kolb, 17, of Blue Mounds, reported wearing their seatbelts, had minor injuries, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.Dillan was cited for failure to maintain control and was released pending court.

● At approximately 11:17 p.m. deputies responded to a one vehicle roll over crash in the N3200 block of STH 81 in the Town of Monroe. Upon investigation it was learned a pickup truck driven by Michael J. Hays, Brodhead, 46, was traveling east on STH 81 when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went into the south ditch where it struck a phone junction box and then rolled. Hays sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Hays reported wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Hays was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants 1st offense, failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, and operating left of center. The Monroe Rural Fire Department and the Green County Area EMS assisted at the scene.

On Oct. 8:

● At 2:47 p.m., Deputies responded to the N7300 block of CTH D, in the Town of Mt Pleasant for a two-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Erin E Keyes,40 of Albany was southbound on CTH D. Another vehicle operated by Allan L Hurst,73 of Evansville was westbound on Nye Road. Hurst failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign, and struck Keyes. Keyes reported non-life threatening injuries and was wearing her seatbelt. Keyes passengers reported no injuries and were wearing their seatbelts. Hurst and his passenger reported no injuries and were wearing their seatbelts. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were driven from the scene. There was no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Hurst was cited for Fail to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign and was released pending court. 

● At 6:25 p.m., Deputies responded to the N3700 block of STH 59, in the Town of Sylvester for a single vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that Donna M. Phillips, 84 of Monroe was traveling eastbound on STH 59. Phillips went to turn onto a private driveway and the vehicle entered the ditch. The vehicle then went down an embankment and struck a large rock. Donna and her passengers reported no injuries, and were wearing their seatbelts. The airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed from the scene.

● At 9:53 p.m., Deputies, Belleville Police Department, Brooklyn Fire Department, and Brooklyn EMS responded to the N8800 block of County Highway E, in the Town of Brooklyn for a single vehicle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Megan E. Diaz, 38 of Verona was traveling northbound on County Highway E. Diaz failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 92. Diaz continued traveling north bound and proceeded into the north ditch. Diaz’s vehicle traveled through the air and landed in a corn field. The vehicle then continued through the corn field for approximately 100 yards before coming to rest. Diaz was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Diaz was transported to an area Hospital for further treatment. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed from the scene. The airbags did not deploy. Diaz was arrested for OWI (1st-Alcohol) and was cited for Fail to Stop at a Stop Sign. Diaz was later released to a responsible party pending court.

On Oct. 10:

● At 6:08 a.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Main Street, in the Village of Brooklyn for multiple 911 calls made from the residence for a traffic complaint. Investigation resulted in Richard I. Hanson, 39 of Brooklyn being placed under arrest for a warrant through the Department of Corrections. Hanson was Jailed at the Green County Jail. 

● At 7:34 a.m., Deputies along with Belleville Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded to the W3800 block of Nye Road, in the Town Exeter for the report of a single vehicle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Samuel M. Crawford, 17 of Belleville was traveling westbound on Nye Road, when the vehicle entered the north ditch and collided with a culvert. The vehicle then overturned. Crawford reported wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Crawford was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Crawford was cited for operating without a valid license. Crawford was released pending court.

● At 8:13 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Monroe Street, in the Village of Monticello for the report of a domestic dispute. Investigation resulted in Bryce M. Klitzke, 27 of Monticello being arrested for Disorderly Conduct (Domestic Related) and False Imprisonment (Felony). Klitzke was jailed pending an initial court appearance.

On Oct 25:

● At approximately 3:24 p.m., Officers investigated a motor vehicle crash to an unattended parked motor vehicle in the 100 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue.  As a result, Angela Cash, 17, Monticello, was cited for inattentive driving.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.  

● At approximately 7:18 p.m., Officers were contacted about an attempted fraud incident in the 400 block of N. Monroe Street.  A citizen reported that they received a suspicious email on their computer.  Access was gained remotely. The citizen contacted the bank and stopped the fraud. The investigation is ongoing.  

On Oct. 26:

● At approximately 1:47 a.m., Officers removed a stray cat carcass from the roadway in the 300 block of S. Main Street.  

● At approximately 12:23 p.m., Officers assisted the Racine County Coroner’s Office with an investigation.

On Oct. 27:

● At approximately 11:16 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a 911 hang up call.  The caller was located.  The caller was okay and it was discovered that the 911 call was accidental.
