Green County Sheriff
On March 26:
● At 8:48 a.m., Deputies responded to the W400 block of State Highway 59, in the Town of Albany, for the report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Juan C. Gumeta-Perez, 55 of Monroe, was traveling eastbound when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch, colliding with a fence. Gumeta-Perez reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and remained on scene, Investigation resulted in Gumeta-Perez being cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.
● At 1:59 p.m., Deputies responded to the W8700 block of County Highway B, in the Town of Cadiz, for the report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Jonathan E. Castro-Mejia, 33 of Monroe, was traveling southbound on County Highway M, when he lost control due to the snowy road conditions and entered the south ditch of County Highway B. Castro-Mejia and his passenger reported no injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
● At 2:34 p.m., Deputies responded to the N2400 block of Bethel Road, in the Town of Clarno, for the report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Courtney L. Hartwig, 17 of Monroe, was traveling eastbound when she lost control of the vehicle due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the ditch and collided with a culvert. Hartwig reported no injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags did deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
● At 11:07 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W5600 block of County Highway C, in the Town of Washington. Investigation resulted in the operator, Kuenzi M. Aeberhard, 26 of Monticello being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (Alcohol-1st). Aeberhard was further cited for Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration and Speeding. Aeberhard was released to a responsible party pending court.
On March 28:
● At approximately 3:42 p.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed Kory R. Costa, 28 of Monroe, under arrest on a Probation Hold as well as a warrant through Stephenson County. Kory was transported to the Green County Jail.
On March 29:
● At 11:01 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N5200 block of State Highway 69, in the Town of Washington. Investigation resulted in the operator, Mario M. Lopez, 28 of Freeport being arrested for Operating Under the Influence of a Restricted Controlled Substance (With Passenger Under 16), Possession of THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lopez was further cited for Operating Without a Valid License and for Speeding. Lopez was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance or the posting of bond. A passenger in the vehicle, Shantell M. Schlafer, 45 of Freeport was cited for Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Schlafer was released pending court.
On March 30:
● At 9:07 a.m., Deputies responded to the W7500 block of State Highway 11, in the Town of Cadiz, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Richard J. Goebel, 52 of Mineral Point, was traveling westbound following another vehicle. The lead vehicle slowed to conduct a right turn. Goebel was unable to stop and attempted to go around the lead vehicle. This caused the two vehicles to sideswipe each other. Goebel reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Goebel’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. The lead vehicle was operated by Todd J. Richard, 32 of Browntown. Richard reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Richard’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
● At 10:52 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W8400 block of State Highway 11, in the Town of Cadiz. Investigation resulted in the operator, Nathan W. Restivo, 44 of South Wayne, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (1st-Alcohol). Restivo was further cited for Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration and Speeding. Restivo was incarcerated at the Green County Jail for a Probation Violation
Lafayette County Sheriff
On April 16:
● 6:59 p.m. Jesus R. Ornelas-Carreon, 38, Madison was travelling on USH 151, Kendall Township in his 2002 Ford when he lost control and rolled his vehicle due to slippery road conditions. Ornelas-Carreon and his three passengers were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Ornelas-Carreon’s 2002 Ford received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Ornelas-Carreon was cited for No Insurance. Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Mineral Point Police, Belmont EMS, Mineral Point EMS, and Mineral Point Fire assisted on scene.
On April 21:
● 3:38 p.m.Marcus L. Bateman, 18, Platteville, was arrested on a valid Probation & Parole Warrant on CTH XX, Belmont Township. Bateman was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody. Belmont Police Department assisted on scene.
On April 23:
● 2:36 p.m. A deputy responded to Jericho RD, Belmont Township for a one vehicle accident. A truck was pulling a pontoon boat and trailer when the trailer detached from the truck and landed upside down in the ditch area. No injuries reported.
On April 24:
● 3:26 p.m. A deputy responded to W Main St, Village of Benton for a two vehicle accident. Victoria M. Luckey, 22, East Dubuque was waiting to turn onto Temple AV. when her 2010 Nissan was struck from behind by a 1988 Ford driven by Zachary M. Thomas, 40, Platteville. No injuries were reported. Thomas was cited for Following Too Close and No Insurance
Monroe Police
On April 20:
● 11:37 p.m. officers on patrol observed a physical altercation occurring in the 1300 block of l4th Street. An investigation led to the arrest of Joshua H. W. Broge (35), Monroe, on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole, for a probation violation. Broge was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
On April 21:
● At approximately 12:44 p.m. Officers arrested Dustin J. Olson, 33, Monroe,in the 700 block of 8th Avenue on an Arrest Warrant issued through Dane County. Olson was taken to the Green County Jail where he was held pending court.
Monticello Police
On April 17:
● 5:56 p.m., Police responded to the 600 block of E 9th Ave. for the report of Damage to Property; a windshield and tire were damaged. This matter remains under investigation.
On April 21:
● 9:23 a.m., Police responded to the 900 block of W Exchange St. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a vehiclebacked into another vehicle. No citations were issued.
On April 22:
● 8:33 p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of 21st St. for the report of a Traffic Crash and Disorderly Conduct; subjects involved in a minor accident and a verbal altercation. This matter remains under investigation.
