Lloyd L. Haeft age 66 of Brodhead, passed away at home surrounded by those he loved and loved him on Sunday, October 21, 2012. He was born in Stephenson County, Illinois; the son of Leo and Marian (Roper) Haeft. He graduated high school in 1965 and joined the Army from 1965 to 1968. He served in Vietnam from Jan. 1966 to Jan. 1967. Lloyd married Debra Gibbons Schneider on September 3, 1991 and they blended their two families.
He worked at Elroy Lumber Co. in Elroy, IL; Armour Dairy in Monroe as a truck driver and receiving clerk until they closed; Dunwiddie Trucking in Juda; and Stoughton Trucking in Stoughton, until he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; children Dawn Howarth (David Hartog) of Cedarville, IL, Lloyd Haeft Jr., Toni (Justin) Sonnentag of Evansville, WI, Nick Schneider of Brodhead, Melody Haeft of Freeport, IL, and Jeremy (Tammy) Haeft; grandchildren Kayla, Kylie and Quentin Howarth; Ashlyn, Tyler and Alyson Sonnentag, Tyler Haeft, and Michael Johnson; great-grandchildren Tristen Carey and Whitley Howarth; two sisters LaVonne (Arthur) Gabel of Lena, IL and Lila (Bud) Heath of Stockton, IL; mother and father-in-law, Bernard and Ruth Gibbons of Monroe; the mother to his children, Marsha Sargent Tessendorf of Lena, IL; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Virgie Lea in infancy, and a special friend Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 27 at the American Legion in Monroe from 1 to 4 p.m. for family and friends to remember and share memories of Lloyd. Everson Funeral Home in Brodhead is assisting the family.
