Leora F. Frehner, 91, of Monroe, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Leora was born November 5, 1923, in Washington Township, Green County, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Zimmerman) Weismiller. She attended Marty Rural School and graduated from Monticello High School in 1941. Leora and John E. Frehner were married on December 5, 1941, in Monticello. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Antique Wheelers Car Club. Leora enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking. She was known as "Grandma Cookie" by her great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, James (Marlene) Frehner of Palmyra, and Dr. Dennis (Esther) Frehner of Goodyear, Arizona; five grandsons, Jeff (Michelle), Dr. Daniel (Marcie), Gregory (Tonya), Kevin (Brenda), and Joshua (Angie); 10 great grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; two step-great great grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, in 1995; a sister, Lucille (Alvin) Moritz; and brother-in-law, Fred (Dolores) Frehner.

Private family graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, with Rev. Tiff Bates of St. John's UCC officiating. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
