Leona Stamm Wolf, age 99, died April 24, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI. She was born April 8, 1911, in Udall, KS. Leona was the daughter of George (Milt) and Minnie Riemer Stamm. Her family returned to the Midwest when she was a toddler. Leona grew up on the Green County, WI, dairy farm her parents bought near Staver Church. She attended the one room Spring Creek School near her parents' farm and graduated from Winslow High School in 1928.

Leona married Russell N. Wolf January 19, 1933 at the parsonage of Staver Church in Clarno, WI. They purchased a dairy farm along County P west of the church. Both Leona and Russell were members of the Staver Church their entire lives. Leona enjoyed being an active member of the Room for You class. Whatever the celebration or wherever the need, Leona was there with her wonderful pies and other baked goods.

Leona is survived by her four children: Elaine (Richard) Hummer of Hinsdale, IL, Milton (Doreen) Wolf of Hansville, WA, Eleanor Wolf of Eau Claire, WI, and Morris (Lonna) Wolf of Hanksville, UT. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 1994 and three sisters, Ilo Schadewaldt, Irene Jordan and Jean Stamm.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 15 at Staver Church. A lunch will be served in the church basement following. Burial will be private.
