Leo R. Felts, 88, of Freeport, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born on August 19, 1921 in Davis, IL; the son of Rev. Avery And Della (Zimmerman) Felts.

Leo married Roberta J. Meyers on September 8, 1948 at Trinity Evangelical Church in Freeport, IL.

Leo served in the Navy from December 8, 1941 until the end of WWII. He was a graduate of Monticello Wisconsin High School. He was a salesman at Sieg Illinois Company for 38 years before retiring in 1984. Leo was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church for many years, where he was a member of the Trustee Board, General Board, and the Visitation Teams for many years.

Leo is survived by his wife, Roberta; one sister, Charlotte (Lester) Flack of Lena, IL; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Felts, Garnet Spielman, and Audrey Meyers.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sons, David and Daniel; his brother, Leonard; and a brother-in-law, Robert Meyers; and his father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Genevieve Meyers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Chapel of Peace in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with pastor Tom McClellan officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time of service at the Chapel of Peace in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for FHN Cardiac Department.
