Kent Charles Quinn age 78 of Westfield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 2, 2013. He was born on October 25, 1935 in Westfield to Gordon and Marian (Dewar) Quinn. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1953. Kent married Dolores Elizabeth Kasubaski on April 19, 1954. He farmed in the Town of Westfield for three years before moving to South Wayne, WI to take a job. Kent worked for Tri-State Breeders from 1959 to 1983 and then started his own business, Quinn's Tomahawk Breeding Service in 1983. He retired to Westfield in 1998 "butt" he continued his art of artificial insemination of cattle where he had serviced over 200,000 head of cattle. He played slow pitch softball in South Wayne for over 20 years and was in the Card Club for 15. Kent had milking shorthorns for over 15 years, which was one of his true loves. He will best be remembered for his humor.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; four daughters, Rose Ann Quinn, Kathy Quinn, Paula (Joe) Chlebus and Mary (Chuck) Vallner; his "second son," Duane Fox; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve (Karen) and Kermit Quinn; the Duane Fox family and many other relatives and friends. Kent was preceded in death by his parents and son, Don Quinn.
A funeral service for Kent will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield with Rev. Laverne Larson and Rev. Cal Schaver officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
