Kathryn A Niesman, age 78 of Medford, WI formally of Monroe, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12 at Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center, Medford, WI. She was born on May 29,1934 in Pine River, MN to Earl and Polly (Kline) Schmelzer. Kathryn married Leo Niesman on December 23, 1950 in Freeport, Illinois.
After marriage she was a homemaker and also a farmer in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for a number of years. She was employed at Advance Transformer in Monroe. They then moved to Prentice where she worked at Phillips Plastics for a period of time. She loved playing cards, was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Bonnie (Jim) Moser of Monroe, son, Randall (Melody) Niesman of Chelsea and daughter-in-law: Karon Niesman of Argyle, a brother, William Schmelzer of Freeport, IL , 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 Daughters, Charlene in infancy, Catherine Shafer on April 7, 2009, her son, Daniel Niesman on August 9, 2012, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
The family will have a gathering from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 26 at the American Legion Post 84, 1627 12th Ave., Monroe, WI 53566 with a short Memorial service at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Kathryn's family to be designated at a later date. Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
