BELMONT - Judy S. Hawkinson of Belmont, WI, died on Monday, July 13, 2009 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, WI. She was the daughter of Leo and Frances (Stoehr) Staley. Judy graduated from South Wayne High School, UW-Stout, and UW-Platteville with her Masters Degree in English. She then earned her Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Edgewood College. On December 31, 1960, she married Eugene Hawkinson.
Judy was a member of United Methodist Church of Belmont and was also an active member of United Methodist Church of Ridge Manor, Florida and of Lafayette Homemakers (Hill and Dale Homemakers).
Survivors include her husband, Gene; her children: Dale (Barbara) Hawkinson of Cleveland, OH and Beth (Chris) Runde of Belmont; four grandchildren: Nikki and Kaprina Hawkinson and Dylan and Emery Runde; her brother: Raymond (Beverly) Staley of Westmont, IL; and several other relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and by her two sons: Jeff (1965) and Mark (1987) Hawkinson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Belmont United Methodist Church, 101 East State Street, Belmont, WI, with Pastor Karl Goodfellow officiating. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Belmont United Methodist Church. The Steil Camacho Funeral Home, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI, is serving the family. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorials are preferred.
