Judith K. Witt, age 72 of Madison, Wisconsin died on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg. She was born November 24, 1939 in Freeport, Illinois the daughter of John "Jack" and Eileen (Clark) LaBorde. The family moved to the Juda area in 1944. She was a graduate of Juda High School, earned her bachelor degree from U.W. Madison in 1990 and her masters degree in sociology in 1991. Judy was a writer for the Monroe Times and worked in the Green County Fair office for many years. She then was the staff coordinator for the Dane County Criminal Justice Department and worked for the Wisconsin State Department of Family Health Services. Judy was a former Chapter President for the Green County Mental Health Association and was on the State and National Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association.
Surviving are her children, Bryan (Amy) Witt of Browntown, Heidi (Chris) Brown of Stevens Point; mother, Eileen LaBorde of Monroe; grandchildren, Erica (Dave) Wand of Gratiot, Michele Curran of Madison, Carey Curran of El Paso, TX, Travis Erstad of Stevens Point, Tyler and Nicole Witt of Browntown; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Jane (Dennis) Swiggum of Monroe; brother, Jerry LaBorde of Darlington, also 3 nieces and 2 nephews. She is predeceased by her father, John "Jack" in 1974.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Monroe Art Center, St. John's U.C.C. and the Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
