Joseph L. Kruger, age 77 of Monroe, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Darlington, the son of Joseph and Joyce (Scott) Kruger. Joe graduated from Warren High School. He served several years in the Army. Joseph married Suzanne Williams on February 6, 1965 in Stillman Valley, IL. He worked as an Optician for the Monroe Clinic for 30 years, retiring in 1993. After retiring, Joe and Suzanne moved to Ely, Minnesota, where they enjoyed being outdoors, especially canoeing and hiking.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne of Monroe, two sons: John (Mary) Kruger of Atlanta, GA and James (Tally) Kruger of Fitchburg; 3 grandchildren: James, Joey and Reina; two sisters: Nancy (Daniel) Herman of Lake Carol, IL and Janeen (Glenn) Geilenfeldt of Lena, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Peppercorn in Monroe. Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home is assisting the family.
