Joseph John Miller, age 58, Pleasanton, California, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008. He was born on August 27, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Harold and Marie Miller, long time residents of Monroe.

Joseph was a 1968 graduate of Monroe High School. After graduating he enlisted in the armed forces gaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. Joseph completed two tours in Vietnam and 9 years of active duty.

Joe is survived by his four children: Melissa and Grace of Pleasanton, CA, Mark of Waukesha, WI and Michael of Germany; two grandchildren, Nina and Emily of Germany; his mother, Marie of Brown Deer, WI; eight brothers and one sister, Brian of League City, TX, Jim of Waukesha, WI, Mike of Madison, WI, Mark of Windsor, MO, Harold Jr. of Monroe, WI, Karl of Cibolo, TX, Kevin of Madison, WI, David of Sun Prairie, WI, and Mary Ann (Miller) Vance of Waukesha, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, and his niece, Amber.

A memorial service was held in Pleasanton, CA at St. Elizabeth Seton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. Graveside services will be held immediately following the ceremony at Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.
