John G. Wyttenbach, age 82, entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on December 4, 1926 in LaFayette County, the son of Gottlieb and Elise (Luthie) Wyttenbach. He attended McKenna Country School and Blanchardville High School. John and Darleen (Hendrickson) were married, April 17, 1946 at Blanchardville Lutheran Church.

John was a very successful car salesman for over 40 years, working with Bienema Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Monroe and Voegeli Chevrolet-Buick in Monticello. John enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family, listening to polka music and watching John Wayne movies.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 62 years, Darleen of Monroe; children, John A. (Mary) Wyttenbach of Monroe, Christine (Paul) Hill of Madison, James (Jane) Wyttenbach of Friendship; 6 grandchildren, Andrea (Jason) Plachetka, Allison (Dr. Avery) Alexander, Kevin Hill, Brian (Katie) Hill, Amy (Kevin) Dye and Jamie (Dr. James Schindlbeck, fiancé) Wyttenbach; 7 great-grandchildren, Easton, Tanith, Nadia, Molly, Sean, Hayden and Macie; sister, Clara Anderson of New Glarus and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Gruner of Blanchardville Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon at the funeral home.
