BRODHEAD - John M. Goznikar, age 40, of Brodhead, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born on July 8, 1967 in Wheaton, IL, the son of Jacob and Marilyn (Thoreson) Goznikar. He married Carolyn A. McGregor on November 7, 1997 in Monroe, WI.
John had worked for Woodbridge Corp. of Brodhead for over 22 years. He loved all animals, was an avid weight lifter, and a Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a step-daughter, Kim Snipes, Springville, AL; step-son, Chris Smith, Louisville, KY; two brothers, Ballard Goznikar, Plattsburg, NY, and Victor (Deb) Goznikar, Orfordville; and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. R. Tiffany Bates officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until time of services. A memorial fund will be established.
