John K. Blumer
John K. Blumer, age 79 of rural Juda, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1932, in Monroe, the son of John D. and Selma (Schindler) Blumer. He attended Browntown Schools and was a graduate of Monroe High School. John was a dairy and crop farmer throughout his life, farming in Jefferson Township. Along with his farming John enjoyed taking care of his yard and spending time in his garden and tending to his animals. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his sister, Janet (Richard) Andrist of Rochelle, IL; niece, Laura (Kevin) Powers of Juda; grand nieces and nephew, Megan, Hannah and Lucas and special friend, Bonnie Boeck. He is predeceased by his parents; aunts; uncles and his best friend, Kelly his dog.
Per John's wishes a family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
