BRODHEAD - John E. Schulthess, age 90, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1920 in Belleville, WI, the son of Emil and Della (Blaser) Schulthess. He married Beverly A. Stauffacher on October 20, 1961 in Dubuque, IA.
John had worked as a cheese maker for over 35 years at Goldenrod and Universal Foods, Brodhead. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, and the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Brodhead, children; Lori (Todd Morton) Nafzger, Dawn (Dan Tree) Schulthess, both of Brodhead, Kevin Schulthess, Monroe, Alan (Betty) Korn, of Orfordville, Richard (Vicki) Anderson, and Sharon (Tony) Bardel, both of Freeport, IL, two sisters; Irene (Donald) Hoague, of Janesville, WI, Rene Erm, California, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond, and stepson, Richard Landen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BROHDEAD. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead.
