Jean F. Ruegsegger, age 74, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1935 in Mt. Hope, WI; the daughter of Paul and Mary Ann (Chlan) O'Brien. She graduated from Evansville High School in 1954. Jean married Richard Ruegsegger on June 4, 1960 in South Wayne. Jean farmed with her husband for many years. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in South Wayne; she enjoyed reading, gardening and flowers, riding horses, traveling, sightseeing, but most of all her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Ruegsegger of South Wayne; 3 sons: Dave Ruegsegger of Monroe, Mike Ruegsegger of St. Paul, MN, Thomas (Amy) Ruegsegger of Oshkosh; 7 grandchildren: Brittany, Joseph, Caleb, Katelyn, Zachary, Joshua and Nathan; 5 brothers: Paul O'Brien of Madison, Phil (Meryln) O'Brien of Madison, John O'Brien of Portage, Tom O'Brien of Evansville and Steve O'Brien of Monticello; 2 sisters, Ann Hollibush of Madison and Mary Clare (Arnold) Hatlen of Brooklyn, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Eric and 2 brothers, James and Lawrence in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.. Monday, August, 2, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church in South Wayne with Fr. David Wanish Celebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 1, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a scripture service at 4 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home. Memorials may be given in Jean's name to Make a Wish Foundation.
