LOVES PARK, Ill. - Jean E. Rogula, age 91, died Sat., Aug. 23, 2014 at the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. She was born Jan. 28, 1923 the daughter of William "Otto" and Ethel (Teets) Hill. She graduated from East Moline High School in 1940. Jean married Samuel Rogula, Sr. on Apr. 6, 1940 in Kahoka, Missouri.

He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1998. Jean worked for 25 years at J.C. Penny's in Monroe, Wisconsin. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Rockford, the VFW, and the Red Hats. She liked to Golf and play cards. Jean was instrumental in establishing a bird feeding program at the Christian Life Retirement Center. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Samuel; sisters, Marie Gibson, and Irene Cullinan; and brother Sherman Hill. Survived by her 3 children: Rev. David (Pam) Rogula of Oregon, IL, Rev. Judy Eilders of Mason City, Iowa, and Samuel (Hazel) Rogula, Jr. of Janesville, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren: Scott (Donna) Rogula, Sheri (Brandon) Ruiz, Brian (Danielle) Rogula, James (Miranda) Eilders, Mike Corwin, Rick (Kris) Corwin, and Jenn (Ronald) King; 15 Great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a special thank you to her extended family at the Christian Life Retirement Center.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Rockford with the Rev. Pam Rossmiller officiating.
