Jane P. McAuliffe, age 72, of Brodhead, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 30, 2016 where she lived with her beloved dogs Molly and Paddy. She was born on February 6, 1944 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of Jeremiah and Elizabeth (Roach) McAuliffe.

Jane was a graduate of St. John Bosco, Notre Dame High School, St. Ambrose College, and Notre Dame University with a master's degree in Biblical Theology.

Jane was a woman of great faith and her passion was teaching children and adults biblical theology. She was an advocate of women in the Church and encouraged them to read the bible and to incorporate the Corporal Works of Mercy into their everyday lives. She taught many years at Dominican High School in Milwaukee where she started and headed Campus Ministry.

Jane was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish where she was presently employed as adult education coordinator, taught Confirmation and 5th grade religion, and was previously youth ministry coordinator.

She is survived by her sisters, Sr. Elizabeth McAuliffe, Mary McAuliffe and Katy (James) Mestan; niece, Suzy Claussen and nephews, Joe, Jeremiah and David Claussen.

She is predeceased by her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, in Monroe, WI with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Sister Water Project or St. Clare Youth Ministry, in care of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, 1760 - 14th Street Monroe, WI 53566.
