James "Jamie" Alan Lickes, 40, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. He was born November 15, 1971 to Jack A. and Janice A. (Kittoe) Lickes in Monroe, Wisconsin. He was currently employed as a District Manager for Rent-A-Center in Davenport, Iowa for 13 years.

Jamie graduated from Monroe High School in 1990, having been a member of the Cheesemaker football team and wrestling squad. He then blazed his unique trail through life, leaving many a Harley Davidson skid along the way, and found a more recent passion for golf.

His extraordinary sense of humor, and loyalty, and generosity blended together to touch all he knew, and will forever be locked in the hearts and memories of family members and countless friends. It took him 4 decades to find the love of his life, and so for his 40th birthday, on bended knee, before family & friends, he asked for Julie Humphreys' hand in marriage. "Of course I will marry you" was her instant response, and the promise of a life together began.

Surviving is his fiancé Julie Humphreys and daughter Kirsten Otts of Davenport, Iowa; father, Jack (Jackie) Lickes of Stockton, IL; mother, Janice Prechel of Monroe; sister, Julie (Derrick) Rosenau Neenah, WI; step-siblings, Duane (Laura) Andrews, Mark Andrews, Kamya Andrews, Angela (Curt) Jackson, Scott (Sarah) Prechel, Tony (Amy) Prechel, & Nick (Kelly Sonderegger) Prechel; nephew Jordan Lickes; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by step-father Harlan Prechel; maternal grandfather Leonard Kittoe; maternal grandparents Adda and Dean Gehrt, & paternal grandparents, Orville & Carmen Lickes.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 23, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Avenue.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with friend Matt Buckley officiating.

A memorial fund is being established in Jamie's memory in lieu of flowers.
