James J. Topp Sr., age 71, of Monroe, died on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1939 in Janesville, the son of John and Evelyn (Dommerhausen) Topp Sr. James and Audrey Trumpy were married on September 19, 1956. Jim retired from trucking, for the Blackhawk Transportation Company in Beloit. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754, and former member of the Monticello Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Price of Milton; sons, Scott, Mark (Jackie), James (Christy) Topp, all of Monroe; daughters, Cindy Eichstadt of Reedsburg, Kathy (Duane) Jones of Monroe, Michelle Kunz of Hickory Hills, IL; brothers, Roger Topp, Tom, Eugene, and Dennis Pastorious; sisters, Barb Luedtke, Mary Pastorious, Shirley Krebs, Donna Nickel, Rose Goers, Carol Pate; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; also by good friends, Scott and Penny Bechtoldt. He was predeceased by his father, John; brother, Don; son-in-law, Richard and his best bud, Clyde Drye.
Per Jim's wishes a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
