Irlis A. Bittner, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Bethel Center. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (In our new location at 1010 E. Veterans Parkway in Marshfield). Rev Mark Krueger will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home on Saturday.

Irlis was born April 5, 1926 in Green County, Wisconsin the daughter of Merrill and Veva (Divan) Smith. She graduated from Monroe High School. She was united in marriage to Rudolph Bittner. He preceded her in death in 1977. Irlis was a home maker and she also worked at Figis in Marshfield.

Irlis cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching soap operas and song birds. Those that knew her best will miss her warm spirit and her love of gardening.

Irlis is lovingly survived by her children, Terry Bittner of Orlando, FL, Kirk (Peggy) Bittner of Marshfield, David Bittner of Marshfield, Lynn Bittner of Marshfield, and Paul Bittner of Marshfield. She is further survived by her 6 grandchildren, Mark, Andy, Kelly, Spencer, Holly, and Hunter; 2 great-grandchildren, Kala and Eric Jr.; a sister, Donna (Donald) Elmer of Davis, IL, as well as, many other family and friends. She will truly be missed.

Her parents, Merrill and Veva, as well as her husband, Rudolph, all preceded Irlis in death.
