NEW GLARUS - A vehicle left running outside a gas station in New Glarus early Tuesday, July 24, was reportedly stolen.
At about 6:30 a.m., according to Green County Sheriff Jeff Skatrud, a woman left a 2007 black Chrysler Sebring running while she went inside BP, 619 Wisconsin 69.
"When she came out, it was gone," Skatrud said.
An unidentified man in his 50s was seen lingering in the vicinity of the gas station before the vehicle was taken and may be a suspect, according to Skatrud.
The Chrysler Sebring was last seen southbound on Wis. 69 from New Glarus.
The Green County Sheriff's Department turned the case over to New Glarus police. A phone message left with the New Glarus Police Department Wednesday afternoon was not immediately returned.
