WARREN - Hope R. Meier, 75, passed away March 5, 2012 at Monroe Clinic Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Hope was born on October 28, 1936 to Vincent and Christina (Rachael) Gama in Galva, IL. She married Raymond Meier on September 13, 1963 in Lena, IL. Hope went to the St. Francis School of Nursing and received her RN. She worked 5 years at the Community General Hospital in Sterling, IL, 37 years for the Monroe Clinic Hospital in the Emergency Room and Pediatric Departments, 10 years as the Monroe Middle School Nurse until retiring in 2010. Hope was a member of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Hope loved to dance, play cards, avid Cubs fan, loved all sports, nursing and being with children. She will also be remembered for her determination to have things go her way.
Hope is survived by her husband; Raymond of Warren, 4 children; Robyn (Richard Sr.) Runkle of Warren, Jodi (Dave) Engerman of Monroe, Todd (Suzanne) Meier of Monroe, Terri (Larry) Keegan of Monroe.
9 grandchildren; April and Charles Fenn, Breann (Drew) Trotter, Nicole Engerman, Lauren Keegan, Aaron Meier, Alyssa Engerman, Tara Keegan, and Vanessa Meier, numerous nieces and nephews.
Hope is preceded in death by her parents.
A Private family service will take place Friday, March 9, 2012.
Interment will be held at the LaDue Cemetery, South Wayne, WI.
Officiating will be Father Michael Leonard.
A memorial has been established for the Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center and Monroe Hospice & Home Care.
