SHULLSBURG - A portion of Wis. 11 was closed for several hours Monday, Nov. 25 after a semi truck carrying hazardous materials collided with a tow truck at Summit Road in the Township of Shullsburg.
The crash was reported Monday at 11:52 a.m. and response teams were still working at the scene to contain the cargo of the semi at 10:40 p.m.
According to a news release from the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office, preliminary investigation indicated the tow truck was northbound on Summit Road when it entered Wis. 11 and collided with the semi, which was eastbound on Wis. 11.
The driver of the tow truck indicated he was unable to stop due to slippery conditions on Summit Road.
