Hazel S. Foley, age 93, of Woodford, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Hazel was born on April 9, 1924 in Jordan Township, the daughter of Clarence M. and Mabel I. (Hansen) Berg. She married John "J.J." Foley on November 20, 1946 in the St. Victor Catholic Church Parsonage. Hazel operated a butter and egg delivery route to local businesses for 28 years. She also served as the Woodford assistant postmaster for several years. She was a lifelong member of Jordan Lutheran Church, was involved with the Jordan ladies aid, and loved tending to her flowers and taking care of her garden.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, John "J.J." Foley of Woodford; two sons, Duane (Marcia) Foley of Woodford and Daryl (Besty) Foley of Browntown; three grandsons, Scott (Bev), Kevin (Chrissy), and Jason (Cori) Foley; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Sean) Dudak and Jeremy (Tiffany) Elmer; six great grandchildren, Joshua, Conner, Colin, Addison, Lucas, and Abigail; and five step great grandchildren, Haley, Ava, Ella, Aaron, and Haylee. She is further survived by a sister, Luella (Junior) Hanson of Monroe; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Duerst of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Virgil Berg; a sister, Ruth Lehman; and a great grandson, Noah Foley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Interment will be in Jordan Lutheran Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
