BELLEVILLE - Harriet Lucille Harbort, age 95, of Belleville passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on April 17, 1914 to her parents Edward and Lydia (Bartelt) Kuhl at Dill, WI . Harriet was a member of the Belleville High School Class of 1932. She was married to John H. "Jim" Rhyner from 1936 until his death in 1958. Harriet then married Jule C. Harbort on October 17, 1959 in Belleville. She worked for General Casualty Insurance in the auto underwriting department and later doing office work for the Madison News Agency. Harriet was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Eagles, and the Moose Lodge.
Harriet is survived by her sister Alice Hollis of Belleville, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lydia and Edward Kuhl, husband John "Jim" Rhyner in 1958, a brother Leland Kuhl in 1996, and husband Jules Harbort in 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with the Rev. Edwin Vargas officiating with burial in Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison.
