Harold "Slim" Miller, age 95, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on March 20, 1913 in Sylvester Township, Green County, the son of Isaac and Hattie (Hickman) Miller. He attended the Searles School in Green County. Harold and Alice Solberger were married on November 11, 1945 in Clarno Township. He was a heavy construction operator and was known for his woodworking and was an excellent cabinet maker. He was in the U.S. Army Air Corp. from 1942 to 1945, being discharged as a sergeant.
Surviving is a son, Stephen Lloyd Miller of Moose, WY; daughter, Kathy Jean Miller of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Gladys Helland of Brodhead; many great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Alice; brothers, Ernest and Ralph "Ted"; sister, Letha M. Foss; and niece, Marjorie Dooley.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Monroe Bible Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
