Harold Komprood, age 88 of Wiota, WI passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. He was born January 2, 1921 on the family homestead farm to Harry and Jennie (Wahler) Komprood. Harold was united in marriage to Ramona Nysted on June 9, 1945 at West Wiota Lutheran Church. Harold and Ramona began their life together on the family farm that Harold's grandfather, Peder Komprud homesteaded in 1858, when he came here from Norway.

Harold is survived by his wife: Ramona of Wiota, WI; two daughters: Sandra (Allan) Potter of Gratiot and Marjorie (Alex) Olson of Monroe; four grandchildren: James (Tiffanie) Potter of DuPont, WA, Joseph (fiancée Megan Ruf) Olson of Blaine, MN, Kathleen (fiancé Shane Stapp) Potter of Inverness, FL, and Jonathan Olson of Fitchburg, WI; four great-grandchildren: Destinie, Kristopher, and Faith Potter, and Lucas Stapp. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Lester Komprood; and four sisters: Elsie Olson, Bernice Johnson, Gertie Hunter, and Viola Thompson.

Harold was a lifelong member of Wiota Lutheran Church, life member of the Vennelag Lodge 5-513 and of Sons of Norway, and one of the original members of the Wiota Fire Department. He liked attending school and sports activities for his grandchildren. Harold enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Norway. But most of all he enjoyed staying at home spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2009 at Wiota Lutheran Church, 6682 State Road 78, Wiota, WI with Rev. Sara Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in West Wiota Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Wiota Lutheran Church. Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
