Harland R. "Pete" Armitage, age 61 of Monroe, WI passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Monroe Manor. He was born August 26, 1953 in Green County, WI, the son of Robert and Norma (Smith) Armitage. Harland attended Pine Bluff High School in Arkansas. He was united in marriage to Deborah Blackwell on July 15, 1972 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He lived in Pine Bluff, AR and Memphis, TN until moving to the Monroe area in 1987. His work experience was in welding and small engine repairs, cars, and marine vehicles.
Harland is survived by his wife Debbie at home; three children: Jennifer Armitage of Monroe, Bradley Armitage of Lodi, WI, and Lindsay Armitage of Winslow, IL; four brothers: Gary (Brenda) Armitage of Albany, WI, Robert (Connie) Armitage of White Hall, AR, Kevin (Debbie) Armitage of Denver, CO, and Thomas (Kris) Armitage of Brodhead, WI; four sisters: Vicki (David) Jasmin of Olive Branch, MS, Karlyn (John) Brinkmeier of Belleville, WI, Karen (Richard) Askew of Memphis, TN, and Lisa Armitage of Hot Springs, AR; and one grandson: Landon Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harland loved working on automobiles, listening to music, spending time with his family, especially his wife. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Harland will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
