Harlan Feldt, 77, of Wisconsin Dells passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was born July 4, 1938 in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Frederick and Dorothy Feldt, Juda, WI. Harlan graduated from Juda High School in 1956, UW-Platteville with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Education in 1960, and Northern Illinois University with a Master's Degree in Science Education in 1971. He served in the 32nd Division of the Wisconsin National Guard at Fort Lewis, Washington in 1961 due to the Berlin Crisis at that time. Harlan enjoyed a 36-year career of teaching science at Wisconsin Dells Junior High School where he coached for 26 years.
Harlan and Ann Norrish were married August 23, 1970 in Juda, Wisconsin. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Michelle; and later in life two grandchildren Eli and Luke.
In 1973 Harlan began a 42-year career as a pilot on the Wisconsin River. His tour boat became a second classroom as he enjoyed sharing his knowledge of geology and Native American history with his passengers.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Ann; son, Michael (Aleesha Wilson) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughter Michelle (Mike Hopkins) and grandsons Luke and Eli of Wheaton, Illinois; brothers Fred (Joyce) of Juda, WI; Ronald (Rebecca) of Marion, IA; sister, Sharon Creuzer (Marvin) of Monroe, WI; brothers-in-law Gary (Ruth) Norrish of Bruce, WI, and Jerry (Gail) Weiss of Summerville, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores Feldt; sister-in-law Barbara Weiss; and father and mother-in-law, Frank and Nellie Norrish.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, August 23 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm and the funeral will be on Monday, August 24 at 11:00 am. Both are held at the United Presbyterian Church, 730 Cedar Street, WI Dells. The Picha Funeral Home is serving the family, with a scholarship set up in Harlan's name.
