Hans Lehner Sr., age 58, of Browntown, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at University Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family. He was born on October 14, 1956 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin; the son of William and Mary (Felix) Lehner and graduated from Mt. Horeb High School.

Hans and Denise Brunner were married on July 11, 1987 in Mt. Horeb Wisconsin.

Hans managed the Valley View Cheese Co-op and was the head cheese maker. He was a member of the Wisconsin Cheesemaker's Association, and the South West Cheesemaker's Association.

Hans enjoyed watching the Packers and the Badgers, traveling, reading, but his biggest joy was his work. He was a world and USA Champion Cheese Maker. His love of life and happy personality will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Denise of Browntown; son, Hans Lehner Jr. of South Wayne; daughter, Gabriela Lehner of Browntown; brothers, Willi (Kitas McKnight) Lehner of Blue Mounds, WI; Seppi Lehner of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Mary (James) Meives of Mt. Horeb; and Heidi (Chris) Fannin of Racine, WI., sister-in-law, Deb Lehner of Mt. Horeb, WI; father and mother-in law Don and Goldie Brunner of Mt. Horeb and many other relatives and friends.

Hans is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Peter and Tommy.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., N. 18th Ave., in Monroe, with Rev. Kevin Cernek officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
