Gloria A. Wand age 73 of Monroe, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Monroe Manor. Gloria was born November 8, 1941 in Monroe, the daughter of Lloyd H. and Dorothy (Gutzmer) Johnson. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1959 and married Roger L. Wand on October 5, 1963 in Gratiot. Gloria was employed as the office manager for the Babler Agency for Mass Mutual Insurance from 1959 until retiring in 2009. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and the Monroe Women of the Moose Chapter #599. Gloria enjoyed playing cards in her Ladies Bridge Club, was an avid Brewer and Packer fan, and liked to take the occasional gambling trip to Dubuque. In her younger years she played fast pitch for several years in Wiota.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Wand of Monroe; two brothers, Russell (Donna) Johnson of Monroe, and David (Kay) Johnson of Surprise, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Maryon Wand; and a brother-in-law, George Wand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Larry Bakke, Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Gloria's name.
