CASSVILLE/MONTICELLO - Gene Lloyd Anderson, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. He was born on August 7, 1928 at Jordan Center to his parents Andrew and Hannah (Hanson) Anderson. Gene attended Monroe Area Schools and then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He farmed and then worked for Advance Transformer for twenty five years retiring on January 31, 1992. On January 27, 1969 he was united in marriage to Selma E. "Betty" Dearth at Bushnell, IL. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities on the river.

Gene is survived by his five children Gary (Karen) Anderson of Monroe, WI, Laura Anderson of Harmony Grove, WI, Lonna Arn of Monticello, WI, Christine (Keith) Jelle of Belleville, WI, and William (Connie) Anderson of Monticello, WI, thirteen grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by a sister Janet Anderson of Waunakee, WI and beloved Beagle Katie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters Nora Rubi, Mabel Anderson, Esther Stelter, Ruth Krebs, and Alice Mani, nine brothers George, Franklin, Charles, James, Morgan, Norman, Floyd, Harry, and Robert.

At Gene's request no services will be held.

A memorial fund has been established at P.O. Box 343, Monticello, WI 53570.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is serving the family.
