Fred F. Baertschi, age 87 of Albany, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Valley Park Care Center. He was born on August 28, 1926 in Albany; the son of Fred and Anna (Schneeberger) Baertschi. Fred attended English Settlement School. He married Dorothy Jacobson on October 11, 1947 in Belleville, WI. Fred farmed on the family farm, he also was an Albany School Bus Driver, a refrigeration repairman and electrician, a substitute Mail Carrier and an American Family Insurance Agent. He was a charter member of the Albany Lion's, an Albany Masonic Lodge member, and was on the Town and County Boards. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, and attending school athletic events.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 3 children: Pam (Larry) Teasdale, Jan (Red) Brewer, and Laurie (Ron) Keepers; 7 grandchildren: Chad (Tara) Teasdale, Leigh (Mark) Lierman, Julie (Aaron) Wiegel, Reggie Brewer, Marcie (Ryan) Brugger, Jed (Angie Erickson) Keepers and Scott Keepers; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joanne Rankins; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Louis (Hilda) Baertschi; sisters, Rose (Walter) Thoman and Wilma (Austin) Holtsapple; brother-in-laws, Harry C. Jacobson and Garland Rankins; sister-in-law, Marian (Arthur) Maenner; and mother and father-in-law, Harry and Laura Jacobson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Albany Lions Club, with Masonic services by Carl Gant. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany. A visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at the Albany Lions Club. A memorial fund is being established in Fred's memory.
