JANESVILLE - Francis "Frank" Sinkule, age 66, of Janesville, passed away quietly on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at home surrounded by his family after a short and courageous struggle with cancer. He was born on December 2, 1941, in Richland Center, WI, the son of John and Martha (Wopat) Sinkule. He graduated from Hillsboro High School class of 1959, and they are still a very close knit group. Frank resided in Kenosha, WI before moving his family to Janesville in 1972. He married Sandra (Weiss) Solace on May 26, 1989, at United Methodist Church in Monroe, WI in the presence of their children. "Knowing her was the best 25 years of my life." He worked for Owen Vending as a route driver for over 30 years, retiring in December of 2003. Frank's greatest joys were "quality time spent with family and friends." He brought out the best of everyone he met. He loved attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren, and volunteering whenever needed at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He spent many happy hours caring for his lawn, "the best in the neighborhood, and making expensive sawdust" playing at his woodworking projects in the basement of his home. He enjoyed traveling several times a year to visit his children. Frank was an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the Celestial Choir for over 30 years. "A great bunch of caring, Christian people." Upon retiring he continued his woodworking projects, volunteered at SMILES (Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills) in Darien, WI; Roosevelt school breakfast club; St. John Vianney men's homeless shelter, and helping neighbors with lawn and snow blowing care.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; 5 beloved children: Linda Sinkule of Melbourne, FL, Sue (Tom) Mulligan of Scottsdale, AZ, Frank (Peg) Sinkule of Louisville, CO, Lisa (John) Gits of Fitchburg, WI, and Diane (Carl Kandiko) Sinkule of Malabar, FL; 2 step children, Lynn Solace of Phoenix, AZ and Tamara Solace of Shopiere, WI; 6 grandchildren: Tyler and Taylor Mulligan, Maddison Gits, Alyssa and Dalton Kandiko, and Austin Hawkins; 1 sister, Rosemary (Francis) King of Janesville; 2 brothers, John (Rosemary) Sinkule of Kenosha, WI and James (Nancy) Sinkule of Monroe, WI; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
