MONROE - A former Monroe resident was injured a residential fire at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in Arbor Vita.

Troy Plantikow, 45, sustained injuries in the fire and was taken to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital, his mother, Caryl Plantikow said Wednesday.

"He mostly received second-degree burns," she said.

Caryl said an adult female and 5-year-old Alexis Plantikow, Troy's granddaughter, were able to escape from the home.
