Florene "Flo" Chapleau

Florene "Flo" Chapleau passed away peacefully, Friday, February 7th, 2014, at Silverado Memory Care, at 86 years of age, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Flo was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Ellen Gibbons. She was also preceded in death by infant brother, Danny, sisters and brothers-in-law Kathleen and Bernie Iwanciow, and Jean and Don Kennedy. Flo was born in New Glarus, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage with Craig William Chapleau on September 30th, 1950 in Madison, WI. While raising their children, Flo worked at Ambruster and Canterbury schools in Greendale, Wisconsin. She also worked at, and later retired from Alverno College. After retirement, Flo volunteered at the American Cancer Society. Flo possessed a lively wit, a great sense of humor, and the gift of gab, making friends wherever she would go. She loved spending time with family and friends in her hometown of Greendale, and also in their winter home in Florida, where she and Craig enjoyed 10 great years. Flo is survived by her loving husband, Craig, of 63 years. She is also survived by her devoted children, Mark (Suzanne), Burt, and Kim (Tom) DeCamara. Flo will also be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Gina, Nikki, and Riley. In addition, she is survived by her brother-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Chapleau and Joan Virnig, and other nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit and celebrate Flo's life, at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel, on Saturday, February 15th, 2014. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A short service will follow at 4:00 p.m.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at Harbour House Memory Care and Silverado Memory Care, and Vitas Hospice Nurses, for the devoted care they gave Flo during the last three months of her life.
