TOWN OF YORK - A rollover crash in resulted in fatality after ejecting the driver. The name of the subject is not being released at this time.
The vehicle was traveling southbound on South 78 near the N9300 block of the Town of York when it exited the roadway and entered the west gravel shoulder. Coming back onto the roadway, the vehicle then entered the east ditch, went down the embankment and overturned multiple times. The vehicle came to rest after striking a fence.
The vehicle sustained severe damage and the airbags did not deploy. It was towed from the scene.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead deceased at the scene by the Green County Coroner’s Office. Response included the Green County Deputies, New Glarus Police, Blanchardville Police, Blanchardville EMS, and the Blanchardville Fire Department.
The Green County Highway Department assisted at the scene with traffic control and establishing a detour. The roadway was shut down for approximately 4 hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
