Ethel Keough

Ethel Keough, age 90 of Darlington, WI passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home in Darlington. She was born on August 21, 1917 in White Oak Springs Township, Lafayette County to John and Ellen (Belonger) Coulthard. Ethel graduated from New Diggings High School in 1935. She was united in marriage to Edmund F. Keough on October 11, 1941 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. Ethel and her husband lived and farmed in the Darlington area for many years before moving into the city of Darlington 1970. She worked in the kitchen at Lafayette Manor in Darlington for 10 years before retiring in 1982.

Ethel is survived by seven children: Larry (Ruth) Keough of Beloit, WI, Mary (Gene) Tollakson of South Wayne, WI, JoAnn (Werner) Gerber of Browntown, WI, Kathleen (Ernest) Buss of Mineral Point, WI, James (Jan) Keough of Myrtle Beach, SC, Donna (Alan) Loeffelholz of Wild Rose, WI and Paul (Kathy) Keough of Watertown, WI; sixteen grandchildren: Amy (Joe Juric) Raiche, Teresa (Wanden) Zittlow, David Keough, Jackie Keough, Bradley, Olen and Scot Tollakson, Randy (Tammy) Tollakson, Annette Wilhite, Alan (Jodi) Gerber, Bill (Stacy) Buss, Patrick (Denise) Buss, Jennifer (Kevin) Gess, Ryan Keough, Matt Keough and Kaitlin Keough; one sister: Helen Koester of Scales Mound, IL; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 28, 1984; one grandson: Darrell Tollakson in 1969; two sisters: Mary Armstrong, and Ann Coulthard in infancy.

Ethel was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, and its Council of Catholic Women and was also active in the Darlington Senior Citizens program.

A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington with Rev. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington with a rosary service held at 4:00 P.M. and from 10:30 until time of service at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
