Esther E. Liegel, age 83, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 at her home. She was born on November 27, 1931 in Sabin, Wisconsin, the daughter of J.D. and Norma (Willfred) Elmer and graduated from Baraboo High School.
Esther and Fred Liegel were married on January 9, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo.
Esther was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Liegel, of Monroe; sons, Randy (Deborah) Goodman of Reedsburg, Brian Liegel, of Ft. Atkinson, Larry (Emily) Liegel of Janesville, Mark Liegel of Montana, Kevin (Linda) Liegel of North Carolina; daughters, Linda (Dave) Beightol of Monroe, Susan (Dan) Heather of St. Charles, IL; Cindi (Lowell) Egger of Monroe; brother, Wesley Elmer of Atlanta, GA; sister, Marva Komisarow and Sharon Evers of Ft. Wayne, Ind; 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her Parents; first husband, William Goodman in 1952; brother, LaVerne Elmer; sisters, Shirley Granger, Phyllis Bird.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Fr. Michael E. Klarer Celebrant. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 19th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., until time of service at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
