Elwood R. Koch age 81 of Monticello, Wisconsin died Friday, April 30, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born June 8, 1928 in Buckeye Township, Illinois the son of George and Ida (Kuhl) Koch.
Elwood and Carol D. Ellefson were married May 7, 1950 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, WI, and they farmed in Washington Township, WI, since 1959. Elwood also dehorned cattle and enjoyed restoring antique tractors. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Koch of Monticello; son, Michael Koch of Monticello; daughters, Margaret (Fred) Beckman of Monroe & Susan Martinez of Monroe; sisters, Helen Gobeli of New Glarus & Janet Fankhauser of Brooklyn; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his Parents; son in infancy; grandson, Jeffery Koch; great-grandson in infancy; brother, Harold Koch; and sister, Irene Brinkmeier.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will follow in Saucerman Cemetery in Cadiz Township, WI.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund is being established in Elwood's memory.
